Beta Lobby A is an area in B3313.

Description[]

The area is traversed similarly to the vanilla Super Mario 64 castle lobby, but the entrance to the secret slide along with the upstairs are missing. All doors lead to paintings, while the top double doors that originally went to the upstairs now leads to a room with a Bowser painting but also a trapdoor, and the middle doors at the bottom lead to a hallway with another single door at the end of it. The numbered doors from left to right are labeled 3, 1, 2, and 4.

The main room's layout is identical to the other beta lobbies.

Origins[]

The main room's model is taken directly from The Preservation Project's Spaceworld '95 demo build recreation of Super Mario 64, with some discrepancies in others regarding wall textures, which are also taken from the game's beta or vanilla files, along with the paintings.

The music playing is "Inside Castle Walls" from "Super Mario 64".

This version has no reverb.

  • The Star: With 10 stars, press the C-Up button in the middle of the main room and look at the ceiling (similarly to how you would access the wing cap stage in vanilla SM64).

Trivia[]

  • The strange noise that plays sometimes when entering doors is a reference to this particular beta footage.
  • Like the other beta lobbies in v0.4, there was a staircase on the room accessed via the middle doors at the bottom.
  • This area was used for the ending starting at v0.4.7 and the ending was moved to Castle Grounds starting from v0.7 onward.
  • In v0.8.9, this area plays the arrangement of "Entrance" used in Parallel Lobby.
  • In E3313, the layout of the area looked mostly similar to Vanilla Lobby.
