Wednesday should otherwise see a slight chance of snow in the morning, then a slight chance in the afternoon as a second winter storm arrives Wednesday into Thursday

The second event is expected to bring a wintry mix of snow, sleet and "patchy" freezing rain, the weather service said.

That storm may "result in untreated roads being hazardous Wednesday night into the Thursday morning commute," the bulletin said.

The latest snow forecasts call for most of the state to see less than 2 inches of snow between early Tuesday and Thursday evening, with slightly lower amounts possible in Litchfield and southern Tolland counties.
