Goomboss' Lair is an area in B3313.
Description[]
The player spawns on a huge tree trunk, where they will fight the Goomboss, a giant Goomba who runs around the arena in circles. Regular Goombas continuously spawn from an acid pool in the center of the trunk. They travel straight forward in the direction they are facing until they either walk off the edge of the arena, are trampled by Goomboss, or are intercepted by the player. The Goombas do not drop coins when killed.
Goomboss cannot be injured by ordinary attacks, so in order to defeat him, the player must hit him three times with the regular Goombas. Since the Goombas cannot be grabbed, the player must dive at them and knock them into Goomboss. With each hit, Goomboss grows in size and moves faster, until the third hit causes him to explode.
Origins[]
The terrain and boss fight are taken directly from the equivalent area in Super Mario 64 DS. However, Goomboss does not have a unique design like he does in the DS version of the game.
The music playing is an arrangement of "Boss Theme" from Super Mario 64.
Stars[]
This area has 1 star to collect:
- Defeat Goomboss to collect a red star.
Warps[]
Leading here[]
- Goomboss Battle: Jump into the hole on the tallest oak tree.

Trivia[]
- Because Goomboss is technically just a resized Goomba, he can be affected by the player's dynamic difficulty values and may appear in another color. If this happens, the spawning regular Goombas will be the same color as Goomboss.

the goombas aren't coming out of the forbidden purple hole, they slightly come out before falling again. anyone know why this happens
Are you playing v1.0? And have you pressed the yellow switch?
Isn't this the exact same stage as goomboss battle? or is there an alternate version that i don't know about?
How come they used the same boss name and stage as in SM64DS but didn't use the actual boss? It's just a big goomba.
To be fair, 64DS uses the King Goomba design from Paper Mario, which wasn't even conceptualized back when 64 was being made
Ohhh right, and it's supposed to be like a beta "leaked" build so they didn't use things that came later.
This is the most hardest and tedious boss fight. Change my mind
