Breaking the Barrier is an area in B3313.
Description[]
The area is a large room with a checkerboard floor, sun carpet, and monochrome nighttime walls. Two double doors are at opposite ends of the area: the doors up the carpeted slope lead to the Internal Garden, while the lower set of doors leads to Floor 3B.
Entering any of the four single doors placed around the perimeter of the room will warp the player out of the opposite door. A copy of the player's character can briefly be seen across the room before disappearing. However, if the player turns and reenters the door quickly, the looping effect will not load fast enough, allowing the player to pass through the door into the loading zone on the other side. To prevent the player from being trapped in the loading zone, a warp there will send them to Plexal Lobby, although they will lose a life in the process.
In v1.0 and later, if the player enters the area from Vanilla Lobby or the Luigi painting in Internal Garden, Bowser's laugh can be heard along with the appearance of a dialogue box reading, "BWAHAHA!"
Origins[]
The layout is based on the appearance of a similar area in Marionova's ROM hack "Breaking the Barrier," as well as some of their videos.
The music playing is the "Minor Key Version" of the "Inside the Castle Walls" track from the vanilla game's OST.

- Floor 3B: Enter the double door set into a brick wall.
- Internal Garden: Enter the double door at the top of the carpeted slope.
Leading here[]
- Vanilla Lobby: Fall through the second trapdoor in the star door hallway leading to the Bowser painting.
- Internal Garden: Jump into the Luigi painting to be warped to the area playing as Luigi.
Leading away[]
- Plexal Lobby: Exploit the glitch described above by quickly entering the same door twice, at the cost of a life.
