（５）高山樗牛の名言　（１）

　一九一一年（明治三四）に雑誌『太陽』に「美的生活を論ず」という評論発表し、文壇を賑(にぎ)わしました。ニーチェの思想に感化されて我の開放と生命感の高揚(こうよう)を説いています。「美的生活」を裏づけ、感性あふれる人柄を示す高山樗牛の名言があります。
・「天にありては星、地にありては花、人にありては愛、これ世に美しきものの最たらずや」（出典：『太陽』（明治二九〔1896〕年八月号）に初出の「『今戸心中』と情死」（『樗牛全集』第二巻、博文館）類似の言葉「天に星／地に花／人に愛」（縦書き、句読点なし）は、武者小路実篤が昭和二十三年（一九四八～九）頃に書いた詩文（求められて即興で色紙に書いたのが初めという説もある）として、『武者小路実篤全集』第十一巻（「詩千八百」、小学館、1989年）等に再録されています。
    この名言の出典元は、ゲーテの名言「天には星、地には花、人には愛が不可欠である。」の可能性もあります。

　　　In 1911 (Meiji 34), he published a review entitled ``Discussing the Aesthetic Life'' in the magazine ``Taiyo,'' which caused a stir in the literary world. Inspired by Nietzsche's ideas, he preaches the liberation of the self and the exaltation of one's sense of life. There is a famous quote by Chogyu Takayama that supports his idea of an ``aesthetic life'' and shows his sensitive personality.
・“The stars are in the heavens / the flowers are on the earth / the love is among people / the most beautiful thing in this world” (Source: “Taiyo” (August 1896 issue)) "'Imado Shinju' and the death of love" ('Chogyu Complete Works' Volume 2, Hakubunkan) first appeared in similar words, ``Stars in the sky / Flowers on the earth / Love for people'' (vertical writing, no punctuation marks) are from a poem written by Saneatsu Mushakoji around 1948-9 (Showa 23). There is a theory that the poem was originally written improvised on colored paper), and is reprinted in the ``Mushakoji Saneatsu Complete Works,'' Volume 11 (``A Thousand Eight Hundred Poems,'' Shogakukan, 1989).
