Scrolling through horizontal tabs.

I am getting sick of all the shaming and acting like it is weird. It is a simple question. Why can't I scroll through my horizontal tabs anymore? A simple < and > are all that is required. It existed before and shouldn't be a point of contention. It is no one's business why I want the functionality that I used to have. The most recent post has been locked though there was no resolution other than 3rd party apps or work arounds (and a lot of shaming).

It is very annoying that, when a tab gets opened by another link, it opens on the end and cannot be closed. That just adds to the mess that people are saying I shouldn't have in the first place, yet it is part of the reason that it is an issue.

Why is there a + on the end to add another tab, when it opens, and you can't see it? yet it seems too problematic to add < and> like we all had before?

I would just like an answer. Not to have people act like it is weird to want what I have had for years.

Hello,

I can't say exactly why the scrolling through horizontal tabs stopped working other than Edge Legacy changing to Chromium, but there are some workarounds out, and if you have a mouse that allows you to program the buttons, I heard that is another one as well other than messing with any extensions.

You can add the command parameter --enable-features=ScrollableTabStrip to your desktop icon of Edge

  1. Right-click on the Edge icon on the taskbar, right-click again on Microsoft Edge, and select Properties from the menu.

  2. Locate the target field, add a space at the end, and paste the following parameter afterwards: --enable-features=ScrollableTabStrip

  3. Click on OK to save the change.

  4. Restart Microsoft Edge Canary.

I am not sure if it will work as attended for you, since experimental commands and flags can be removed or changed quickly.

You can submit feedback through Edge (Alt+Shift+I) to ask for this as a feature request as well.

Thanks for your understanding, and patience with the new Microsoft Edge.
