Carry a Notebook at all times!
There are many pocket-sized notebooks available, some can be expensive brands whilst others cost next to nothing. The ideal size, for me, is A7. This size will easily slip into a pocket and fit perfectly into a jacket’s top pocket. They are available in all types of binding and the one in the photo below is very common, spiral bound and low-cost.
If you simply want a method to jot down a few notes there is an easy way to make a pocket notebook using one single sheet of A4 or Letter size paper. It’s called a “Pocketmod”. These are easy to make and with a few folds and one cut with scissors, you have a small pocket notebook. These give you eight small pages to write on. You can use a scrap piece of paper if one side is blank.

I keep a pile of pocketmods ready-made in my home office and use them for brief notes. They slip easily into the smallest pocket, wallet or purse and can be invaluable when you need to make a note or carry notes with you. They are also discreet compared to pulling out a notebook which might seem more formal or intimidating to some.
