Loopholes in US export control
In two videos posted on his Douyin account from Guangdong on Nov 28 and 29 respectively, cofounder of Beijing-based startup incubator Kun Lun Nest (昆仑巢) Su Di (苏菂), who previously founded incubator/cafe Garage Coffee (车库咖啡) in Beijing’s Zhongguancun, boasted he had access to Nvidia’s H100 (left video) and H200 (inside a Supermicro GPU server; right video) — both are banned from export to China by the US.
Both videos were posted from Guangdong and Su said in another video that he just returned to Beijing from Hong Kong past midnight of Dec 1… apparently he got his hands on the H100 and H200 while he was in Hong Kong or somewhere in Guangdong, possibly Shenzhen.
