Sometimes I feel like book recommendations spoil the fun. We all end up reading the same top 10 books and recycle the same ideas. However, I cannot NOT recommend the two books below. Especially to those of us who parent, teach or work with Gen Z-ers. And especially to those of us who constantly feel like they could and should be doing more. It was quite an interesting experience reading them one after the other: I felt like this combination has highlighted for me all that is right with Gen Z and all that is wrong with the rest of us. When an anthropologist, a linguist, a historian, and a sociologist join forces, we get a nuanced and compelling portrait of a generation.
