This guy was the last designed in wave one so he wasn't as overworked as some of the characters. His robot face isn't good, the colors are garish, his name is wrong for character and it's all my fault. You have to have a design bottom of barrel and Armada Smokescreen is mine.

I was in law school when this came out, and I absolutely adored his winch gimmick, with a switch to turn it on/off. Loved how his Minicon mounted on his forearm with the forks facing forward like a weapon. Maybe not the best of Armada, but he unfairly gets a bad rap. Fun figure!
This wasn’t a bad figure. Hoist was a cool upgrade. Been neat to see him in G1 Grapple or Hook colors. Maybe even a remold for inferno.
I can't remember, did you design his upgrade as Hoist? To this day, that's still one of my favorite Armada designs.
