PNC will shutter its first Pittsburgh branch this year early in the second quarter, according to a filing with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and confirmed on Friday by the bank.

That's down from four during the same period a year ago.

But this branch is unusual. Located at 345 Court St. in Coraopolis, it is at the headquarters of giant retailer Dick's Sporting Goods. It is rare for any bank to locate a branch within another corporation.

PNC said the Coraopolis branch will consolidate at 2 p.m. on April 17. An ATM will remain on site. Customers will be directed to PNC's branch at Robinson Town Center, located at 2101 Park Manor Blvd.

"This decision was made in close collaboration with Dick's Sporting Goods and PNC's team will remain engaged onsite to ensure we continue to support their employees' financial wellness needs," a PNC spokesperson said via email. "PNC serves its clients through a diverse ecosystem of banking methods, which includes branches, voice and mobile banking services and 60,000 PNC and partner ATMs."

PNC opened the branch in 2019. It succeeded a branch that First Commonwealth Financial Corp. debuted at Dick's (NYSE:DKS) headquarters in 2010. Dick's did not respond to a request for comment.

PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE:PNC) is Pittsburgh's largest financial institution by deposit market share and the nation's sixth-biggest bank according to total assets. It previously confirmed 22 branch cuts during the first quarter of 2025, none of which are in southwestern Pennsylvania — 10 on Feb. 21 and 12 on March 21.

PNC is also shuttering two on April 18 at 3 p.m., both outside the 10-county Pittsburgh metro. They are located at 534 Griswold St., Detroit, Michigan, and at 1921 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, New Jersey. PNC said the decision was based on its ongoing review of client transaction patterns to ensure its branch network most effectively meets the evolving needs of our local markets and communities.

This brings the 2025 total branch cuts so far to 25.

PNC shed 58 branches across its footprint during the first half of 2024 and 173 during the comparable six months in 2023.
