DONOVAN-- Gerard Kirwan ,attorney. Born January 28, 1919. Died peacefully July 7, 1999. Gerry lived according to the motto of his alma mater: God, Country, Notre Dame. He was a devoted husband and father. He graduated Cum Laude from University of Notre Dame as Co-Captain of the fencing team, Student Body President and winner of the Dome award. He received a Juris Doctorate from TU where he later taught Ethics. Gerry worked as Assistant City Attorney, then became the youngest Judge in Oklahoma history to serve on the State Industrial Court. He continued in private law practice until his death. He was Co-Chair of Birthright of Tulsa and a Charter member of the Church of St. Mary's. The Catholic Church honored him as a Grand Knight Commander of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre. Survived by: beloved wife, Beth; sister, Sister Marie Gerard, O.P.; daughters and sons, Mary and Michael McCusker, Kathleen and Quentin Macmanus, Kevin and Mary Donovan, Paddy and Mark Swiney, Erin Donovan and Norman Gilder; 20 grandchildren.
