After playing the game more I can now confidently say that I am not impressed with the item bloat. I love the choices that are found in the game, but there are so many combos that just do not work at all and filling your board with them randomly adds near zero value to your rounds.

I do not like the game-play of just mashing reroll until I get something of some value. The game feels like you are experiencing "feast-or-famine". You either get some synergies that are so over-tuned you are able to easily carry most runs, or you get a random assortment of garbage and lose.

I actually really like the game overall, but I can't recommend this to anyone because I feel that the developers really missed on a key component of rogue-lite design. There is no agency when it comes to your builds or items choices, just reroll. There has also been no response from the devs on what they plan to do (if anything) about this choice.

The game was fun for the first few hours. The concept of building your bumpers in a ball-drop game is original, and I was eager to see how the difficulty would ramp up and to explore new maps and combos. However, something didn’t quite click for me as I progressed. The game seems to lose its charm rather quickly.

Of the five available maps, two are terrible, one is average, and two are good. Some of the upgrades you can choose feel either useless or unfair, which detracts from the experience. Overall, I think the game could use a bit more polish to meet its full potential.

That said, for the cheap price, I still recommend the game. Just be aware that it might not offer as much replayability as other deck-builder roguelikes. I just can’t give it a high score. For me, it lands around a 6/10.

meh its OK, it's too random and there isn't much sense of strategy after the 5th game. Still enjoyed it but wish there was a chronological mission system or some sort of campaign. Being able to just play any map on any difficulty after Ballionaire++ is fine just would be nice to have a Balatro style system with completion tools.

Super fun and addicting! especially when you find crazy combos. I definitely recommend it if you like roguelike games. Only thing is, some of the item descriptions can be a bit confusing, but it’s still a great game overall

This is an incredibly fun game to just turn your brain off to on lower difficultys while still being able to put quite the amount of strategy into at the higher difficulties.

The sound and feel of the game is great expect some certain triggers (like the mower which is really loud).

The diffrent builds you can make are really fun which go from coinball builds where you become a true capatalist to a build where you slay all monsters on the board and make it implode in fire and rocks.

My major gripe with the game is simply the lack of content. This affects all part of the game from the builds too the maps all the way to the difficultys. There simply isent enough to fun stuff to unlock and you can more or less unlock everyting before the 10 hour mark. This leaves you to achivement hunt or just endlessly playing whatever map you enjoy which can be fun but it does get stale when you know what works for each build.

Overall its a good fun game but needs some content drops or dlc to be really good. 8/10

Unfortunately the game is trivially easy and extremely one dimensional. The depth and replayability in this tableau roguelite isn't anywhere close to others in the genre. Defo worth a play for the interesting design, and maybe for a vet of the genre to see how quickly you can completely break the game over your knee.

Ballionaire slaps. This game is so good I barely know where to start. The game play loop is incredibly satisfying and the sound design really drives that home for me. There are a lot of synergies that are not only good to use in the game but also feel good to use as a player. I really appreciate that the unlock system gives you a choice for what item to unlock. Luck be a Landlord walked so Ballionaire could run. 11/10

A hell of a dopamine machine. Number go up.

Pachinko? Peggle? Its some kind of thing.

I enjoy it. Set your board with various pegs that interact in strange and unique ways.
Pegs that make balls, pegs that change how balls work, store balls until they're at a certain threshhold.
Pegs that summon arrows, portal your balls to somewhere else.

Design your board with a selection of random pegs and see how high you can go.

Its fun.

Unique and fun casual game. Easy to play, challenging to master. Similar to games like Plinko or Peggle. You drop a ball that hits pegs along the way down. You can earn upgrades that you can apply to a peg to have it do things if it is hit. (Such as spawn more balls, earn bonus cash, etc) That''s really about it. Try to earn as much cash as you can, by placing the right bonuses in the right places. THere is a target amount you need to reach to advance to the next 'level'.

Really fun, nothing groundbreaking, but very unique and enjoyable. I wish there was more meta upgrades.

tl;dr - 5/10: very strong concept and initial gameplay; oversights and other flaws in execution quickly the hamper the experience; check back in some time

A very strong concept to rival Balatro, but suffers in its execution. The game is plinko, where you can add pinball-like bumpers (called Triggers) which can spawn extra balls, accrue bonus money, or do some other third thing when your ball hits them. Every ball drop or so, you are allowed to pick one of three (or more) randomly chosen Triggers to add to your plinko board (called a Draft). If you have a build centering around Triggers which spawn Rock balls, and you receive a Draft where all Triggers don't interact with Rock balls, then you're - simply put - screwed.

The Trigger system, somehow, is surprisingly reminiscent of Yu-Gi-Oh; many cards that you can put in your Yu-Gi-Oh deck are designed with the intention of volleying off of other cards and their mechanics: the key difference between it and Ballionaire is that the player (in contemporary Yu-Gi-Oh) usually has the ability to choose exactly what cards they put into their deck. There's no RNG involved, unless you're drafting cards from booster packs, which is an unrecommended way of playing due to how critical the interplay between cards are. Ballionaire suffers from this heavily: a given Trigger is often useless by themselves, and granted that you have no precise control over what Triggers may appear in the next Draft, a given trigger may remain useless for the entire game.

The game's goal is to score an amount of money from your ball drops, augmented by your Triggers. Your main obstacle (aside from the cheeky answer of 'the game's RNG-centric design') are the Elders who demand tribute: every [x] ball drops, if you haven't made [y] dollars, you lose. Furthermore - and this is the important part - each Elder carries with them a debuff (a Tribulation) so long as they are demanding tribute from you. Each debuff affects you for one third of the game, whereupon it is replaced by the advent of the next Elder. Generally, each debuff targets a specific type of Trigger, or forces the player to prioritize certain Trigger types over others: for example, an Elder may make your Teleport triggers send the ball to an unintended destination, throwing a wrench into your plans.

Now, recall that your success in the game is heavily RNG-reliant and it is often that a majority of the Triggers available to you are functionally useless; now, thanks to the Elder, you are often forced to ignore beneficial Triggers due to the Tribulation they bring. This slashes down your effective pool of 'useful Triggers' down dramatically. As you play the game, more Triggers become available to you, and - like most other Triggers - they are combo-centric and are dead weight unless you happen to be lucky enough to get the other combo pieces. The Tribulation system is a clever idea on paper, in that it forces a player to get creative and choose certain Triggers which they would never take otherwise; for instance, making a player who prefers Coin balls play with Water balls. But again, the execution is poor, and almost feels short-sighted.

With that being said, a majority of complaints pertaining to the game almost always concern the execution, and given that this game has just turned one month old, there's definitely room for improvement. I would like to imagine that in six month's time, Ballionaire will become a mainstay in the brand new 'Big Numbers Casino' genre. But, that time is not now.

Not a bad "autobattler" type (kinda) of rougelike. No real difficulty, to be honest. You just need ways to make A LOT of balls, or ways to reuse balls and then whatever combos with that doesn't matter.

Good news, there are a lot of different kinds of maps to play, and game modes, so it isn't just a one-trick-pony.

I'd say for about $10 you are getting a lot of value and something chill to just kinda wind down with when you don't know what to play.

Not a terrible game and it's an acceptable time waster, but there are plenty of "ok" games that you can waste time with. What's most notable about the game is that it gets worse the longer you play.

You unlock additional draftable items as you progress through the game. In most games of this sort, that adds some extra complexity for more experienced players and allows for more builds, thus expanding the game's shelf life. In this case, I found it just dilutes the pool of items too much. There were more bad items taking up selection slots and it became harder to find items that worked well together. They need to group the items into "packs" and only have a limited number of packs show up per run or something.

The difficulties scale weirdly. At "Ballionaire +" I found the game quite easy, but I have yet to beat "Ballionaire ++". Between these difficulties they both increase the number of debuffs you have to deal with and double the scores you must reach at each level. This is a huge increase.

Finally, the debuffs are not particularly well balanced. Some only harm you if you're going for a very specific build, like forcing your ball to drop its hold items. Since you can see the debuffs in advance, just don't build for hold items (this does, however, exacerbate the problem of struggling to get enough related items to make
a good build). Others, like the one that debuffs items next to bouncers, are debilitating and unavoidable. You need bouncers. Additionally, since you can restart a run with 0 penalty, it just incentivizes rerolling until you get an easy set of them. Debuffs therefore just make restarting a run take a few extra seconds, making them more annoying than interesting.
