>>103910243You want a non-shitpost answer, it's a combination of the algorithm, community, content allowed, and who is in charge.
Algorithm I can't explain it in detail, but TikTok is superior when it comes to serving shit "For You", and Red Note functions extremely similar. If you're a creator, you can be a literal who and just post something good with no tags, no followers, etc. and you'll become viral overnight out of nowhere because your content decided to get served to someone who might like it within 1 hour. Shorts/Reels is so bad with this kind of stuff that 3 months later a meme/trend that came and went finally shows up to the masses.
Community, this is mostly for normalfags and muh feelings. "Everyone is nice here. Everyone's mean on Reels/YT Shorts comments. You can't act stupid and make shitpost jokes because people will just call you weird and tell you to stop doing that instead of joining in with the shitposting" and "there's dislikes on YouTube" is what I've heard a lot of. This one is kinda temporary for Red Note though. While everyone is also nice to each other to the point where chinks are trying to teach mandarin to new users or sharing cat pictures, it's still in its honeymoon phase and people are gonna get humbled soon by all the normalfag shit that's banned on there (Any sort of political talk, no showing tattoos, no gays, etc.)
Speaking of, content allowed. You should know by now that YouTube's copyright detection is the most anal out there. Albeit TikTok has their own, it's not as aggressive, so people avoid YouTube for that . For example people LOVE uploading full movies to TikToks even if they's split into 30 parts individually. Can't do it "as much" on Reels/YT compared to TikTok/RedNote/Douyin/etc where being chink apps doesn't need to abide by laws.
And then who is in charge. Mark Zuckerberg is HATED by millennials and zoomers for his ideologies and business practices. People won't use anything Meta if they don't have to. That's it.
