A Bradford woman has been charged with causing the death of a woman who was hit by a car near a bus stop in Leeds.
Athira Anilkumar Laly Kumari, 28, died after being hit by a VW Golf near to the junction of Stanningley Road and Cockshott Lane on the morning of February 22, 2023.
A second person, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Rumeesa Ahmed, 27, of Princeville Street, Girlington, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
She was also charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The woman appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Friday, January 10, and was released on unconditional bail.
Ms Ahmed is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on February 7, 2025.
