Anyone who didn't want their profile picture screenshotted shouldn't use that as their profile picture to begin with! Everyone knows they shouldn't put stuff in a visible spot on the Internet that they don't want copied.

Bennis, 02 Jan 2025I have seen some people complain about more common problems with this phone, or rather the ser... moreI have this phone for 2 months now, I don't have grainy screen, neither my battery drops quickly, mine lasts for almost day and a half, I do not play games, just watch You tube, social media, WhatsApp, browsing, Spotify, calls, texts. So, actually for me it's a beast of a phone not to mention the pictures I took of my vacation where fantastic, love the colors, sharpness, they were even better than my last phone did which by the way was a S22+. So, in conclusion I don't regret getting this phone. Each have different opinions, but that it's a matter of choice.

Anonymous, 16 hours agoIt costs 2000 dollars, yet it can't screenshot WhatsApp profile pictures. ;-)You can't screenshot profile picture on WhatsApp because Meta the owner of (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and now WhatsApp) doesn't let you screen shot profile picture so does Facebook. I think I like that because it's more privacy for us. By the way, 2 months using this phone and it takes great, colorful pictures, and performance is awesome!

all here complaining about this phone either do not own one or cant afford one... using this phone from 11months & didnot face any single issue ppl are mentioning here in the forum, this phone is absolute winner in term of anything you can expect from a smartphone.

zhar, 03 Jan 2025please save your money, the screen is grainy when its low brightness, not as clear as s23uI can confirm that, i have the phone since the launch in february, the display is bad in comparison to S23U and S22U. I feel like the build quality is worse compared to the older series. The 10X zoom is still worse on the S24 Ultra compared to S23 Ultra after so many updates and fixes.

No overheating or grainy screen... not that I notice anyway. And the battery life is fantastic (I'm only using 70% of the battery too, as I keep it between 15%-85%).
I've only dropped the phone once (on a carpet), but there was no damage at all... I have it in a Spigen clear case.

About the grainy display, I can say that the display of S24U may be not so bright or so contrast if you do compare it with other OLED display (i.e I did it with my galaxy A8 2018), only when you compare it with other phones. Otherwise, you never ever see the grainy display. You have the perfecr display Samsung offer in 2024.
I think this is because the GG Armor which is less reflective (well i think GG Armor is kind matte display, just like matte screen protector) and this is not a faulty at all.

I have seen some people complain about more common problems with this phone, or rather the series.
Problems mentioned were: high overheating, grainy screen, fast battery discharge while doing common tasks, poor build quallity causing the phone to easily break apart if dropped
Are these still persistent problems with the phone, or are these more rare problems rather than common?

Guys, its bad to say
Even we have now OneUI 6.1, s24u still feels laggy sometime.
For camera I can say samsung improved much in s24u in shutter lag, but it is still way behind other devices like vivo x200pro and oppo find x8pro.
Please improve shutter lag dear samsung.

Silicon chip don't get much better lately
I thought 4.0 storage was meant to be twice as fast as
3.0 which is probably a lie I think the difference is smaller

I have a question and I would appreciate anybody who answers me.
I have recently studied on photography topics but I don't understand something.
On my camera phone lens it is written 25 mm which is the focal length of the lens, but when I take photos and go to the details of the photo in the gallery the focal length is written 5.44.
So which one is the focal length?
The number on the lens or the number in the photo details?

S24U Phone works flawlessly but I have below major issue with "Samsung My files" app:
1. When I do copy/move and copy/move here Option "my files" don't give a Search Button to search desired folder to move or copy here images. It gives main folder list to select folder to copy or move here manually. But android 10 on S9 gave that facility which is very easy to copy paste.
Tried same process with Files by Google but surprisingly still same. No search button appears to search folder to paste.
Cache and data deleted of the app and device restarted. Fully updated all apps and the device. But still no difference. Anyone experience this issue?

Assume this is a bug with Android 14 or one UI 6.1. Hope to get a bug fix update.

SteveUk, 17 Dec 2024Just downloaded the new UI 7.0 update... everything seems good! 💪Honestly, I'm more looking forward to the update to nova launcher (support for android 15) than oneui7. Samsung's native launcher seems childish compared to the unlimited possibilities of nova launcher. Nova UI runs smoothly even on the standard 60hz refresh rate.

Starting from s3 then s7 edge and now this one... I am always happy when I`m using Samsung and debating between s23 Ultra and s24 Ultra I ended up with the s24u because of the 7 year update support.
The camera is extremely good ( despite 99% of it being AI ), night shots are still not that mindblowing, but for my usage its enough. Samsung's Quick Sharing is better than Airdrop for sure. The Display is maybe the best thing this phone will never lose the competition to anyone. Flawless performence with the Snapdragon Gen 3. The AI features... I mostly use the draw and textformatting features. The rest is not something you would use everyday. The phone is flat which makes screen protectors placement easier... tbh the phone is 10/10 for me and with ONE UI 7 coming Q1 2025 its gonna become much better!

Strong on the display quality a... moreThe cameras and sound quality are some of the best you can get in an Android phone released in 2024. I don't know what standards you have.
Never heard of anyone complain about GPS issues, you're the first one I've seen.
New software not enough to deserve the amount of money spent? What are you talking about? Software updates are literally free of charge.
Besides, you're getting 7 OS updates and 7 years security patches on this thing. That's a fantastic commitment by Samsung considering how expensive this phone is. Compare that to older Samsung flagships that will only receive 4 OS updates and 5 years security patches.
Also, S23 Ultra does not take better pictures - there's a bit too much sharpening, colors are not as natural, and detail is worse than S24 Ultra. The only advantage the S23 Ultra has is 10x zoom, even then the results are not that much better than S24 Ultra.

Strong on the display quality and confortable design.
Camera is the largest disappointment as there is a very bad tunning towards light in low light enviroments. It takes pictures that are blurry and to take the perfect shot is just a lot of work.
New software bring some solid improvements with ui7 but not enough to deserve the amount of money spent.
Sound quality is just bad due to the positioning of the sound .
The phone requires a lot of tunning that samsung is years away from apple.
S23 ultra does a better job at pictures.
Avoid this phone and wait for a new model and reviews. Hard test it on the store.

Given by many phone experts phone of the year in 2024 & am I impressed it's gorgeous, the precise build quality, the unbelievable screen (as usual)best in the business.
Customation you can have a ball tinkering with every feature unlike I Phone where you get what your given or bad luck ,and things like AI features, S Pen, Dex computer experience top top of the table cameras & video what more do you want ,10 out of 1l0 in my experience GO Android

I have no idea why people buy boring repeative every year with little customation ,yes I'm talking about apple,boy I was looking at some of the few features (BORING) why do people buy that probably because they haven't tried the latest Andriod phones GO SAMSUNG

Samsung needs to come back again in upcoming mobile phones cause a lot of brands has much more good quality images & videos taken from their cameras especially in nighttime, besides they are starting to imitate Apple in their bad side too (same design/ same battery, etc.) ,,, come on Samsung wake up from your nap and be aware of Chinese brands ...

S24 ultra is by far the best phone that I eve used. I cant describe how happy i am with this phone with ots wonderful ui iand user experience camera and power ! This thing is incomparable to iphone and i was a 14 pro max user, its incomparable, the s24, ultra is way better in every aspect you can imagine.
