POPGOES Evergreen:
Okay so firstly, we have settled on the idea of Blackrabbit's pieces being placed in a set order. Because not only does this mean there's no need for special overlay renders of the Blackrabbit pieces (with their shadows...?) but it also means we don't need separate renders of Popgoes when he's placing the parts. It's much more efficient. It's actually exactly how the original POPGOES game does it. But, again, Popgoes will NOT visit rooms in a strict order. It will be randomised, making it more challenging than the original game.
I also mentioned last week that the table with Blackrabbit's parts will have a light above it that flickers based on how many parts are on it. Of course this will be programmed in Clickteam with a flickery effect, but if you want to see how this lighting will look, here's a gif of it:
And here's a "full" version of that creepy Popgoes render that you guys seemed to really like. Though these pics are done at a lower res than what we'll use for the game:
In fact, take another one! This one is super shadowy because of Popgoes covering the left security light:
Lots of fun. We are almost done with all of the poses and renders for Popgoes the Weasel, which is kind of a huge milestone when you consider just how many scenarios there are with him in the pizzeria. Different rooms, different Blackrabbit parts, different head angles... Garrett has done an amazing job. I admire his patience!
On top of this, we've worked on some of Saffron's poses and renders, as it relies on this main dining area. Saffron has a brand new mechanic in Evergreen which involves the Photo Room (which was originally the Staff Room). I won't go into detail here but it's quite cool. Saffron will feel more intimidating as a threat separate from Sara.
Unfortunately I can't SHOW anything else from Evergreen's development today, but I can share two things:
Firstly, the special extra thing that I've been working on with some new people has had some great progress. I'm almost certain that you'll get to see it fairly soon, maybe in the next couple of weeks or so. I'll give you one hint: Toy.
Secondly... Simon. Is. Done. He's finished. He's modelled, textured, rigged, rendered a couple of times... and he's perfect. He is my favourite FNAF character ever. And obviously I'm biased but I really don't think anything comes close right now. He's big, scary, complex, interesting, colourful but not garish... Maybe even kind of handsome. I'm sure you'll all love it. But I guess I was also very sure people would love Deadline in POPGOES 2 and plenty of people (including myself a year later) thought it was ridiculous. So who knows, maybe this design will also age poorly. I doubt it though!
Obviously I can't show you anything from the design or model, but here are some reactions from people on the team:
Phil then went on to compliment the model a ton. He's usually quite hard to please so I'm very happy with that!

Merch:
I'm working on a mockup to show Youtooz, with Jayfer again. This time for a set of Halloween Popgoes pins, based on the Halloween Popgoes trading cards from Evergreen:
This little project is still very early so not much has happened, but I thought I'd share something that Jayfer came up with, which is an alternate set of Halloween Popgoes designs in which the characters actually become the things that they are dressing up as:
Which I thought was a really cool idea! But ultimately not a very good fit for Youtooz pins. For a few reasons, but mostly because I think they may be too complicated for such a small design, but also because I think long-term people will prefer to have merch that is more recognisable, and familiar to the game itself.
I've recommended that Jayfer still eventually finish these pieces and release them as fanart because it's a really interesting concept!
Game Jolt Creator Stickers:
Suddenly, Game Jolt has introduced Creator-made stickers to Game Jolt! These are special sticker designs that you can collect via sticker packs that you can open when you add a charged sticker to a Creator's post!
So basically, when you put a charged sticker on my post, you'll be able to open a Kane Carter sticker pack. Opening this will give you three stickers, from a pool of five different amazing designs, contributed by
of course!

At the moment, creator stickers can only be placed on posts belonging to the creator of those stickers. Meaning you can only place these stickers on my posts, and if Emil makes any stickers you'll only be able to place them on his posts, etc...
This does make stickers a little less interactive but it's much easier to moderate. Maybe eventually creator stickers can be placed anywhere, or maybe they'll require GJ admin approval first... I have no idea!
If one day we are able to add more packs, with more stickers, I think having one with the six Blackrabbit pieces is a no brainer. That sounds like a ton of fun.
