i played your game a week ago and lines from it keep getting stuck in my head. "and please, let it be enough" is a killer phrase in its context. i keep thinking "i could listen to him read the phone book" about loic before abruptly realizing he is not actually voiced. but it does feel like he was written with that kind of voice.

maybe this is reading too far into stuff, but is there any significance to the fact that ysme repeatedly feels a calming sensation whenever loic uses flower reading (the pallisia, then the dandelions, then the rose) on or near her? like is that a personal flourish, a loic specific thing that only happens when HE casts a spell, or is that a trait of flower reading in general

there’s a popular fanart of isabelle from animal crossing wearing a shirt that says “shut the FUCK up! BIIITCH” and i think about it constantly, and i hate that i can’t find the artist who originally drew it and properly credit them because “it’s a meme” which means “no one made it i guess.”
anyway, loic can wear that shirt.

i assume getting asks about cucumber quest might be a bit old to you by now, but i remembered this recently: when i was younger, i loved it (really, your art, in general) so much that i had a simple cucumber quest-themed table at my bar mitzvah. im now an adult who makes comics of my own. i eagerly follow soulsov and am incredibly excited to see it completed, and i love seeing the new places you have gone with your work! just wanted to mention that there was once a kid who had a little table decoration with Cucumber on it :) thank you!

it has officially been one year since soulsov prelude launched. thank you for being kind to my freaks for a whole entire year.
i hoped to have chapter 2 completed by today, but alas, it will have to wait a few more months. it's already much better for the delay, though.

not really lol i see and know all basically lol
i think it’s probably best to avoid “leading” anyone’s interpretation a certain way by commenting on reader reactions to characters. i will only say it’s been fun to see.
before the prelude came out, i was anxious about how the story would be received. i feel confident in my art, but i wanted people to pay attention to my writing, too. i wanted the story to be more than “okay, but the art is the real draw.” so, seeing it resonate with people has been really gratifying. thank you for humoring me.

well, she hadn’t fully marinated yet. i was also still slightly in cq mode at the time, so she looked a bit more like a character from that.
also found the very first concept of this guy
special for soulsov day 2024, here is some concept art from 2020. the pallid woman was originally going to be wearing something much less appropriate for the weather. she must have been cold…

thanks for answering so many little character questions over the past year. i feel like i'm getting a better feel for what ysme and loic are like in their interests/hobbies/routines/personal lives, and it paints a picture where loic had until recent been a fairly stable and ordinary (if very educated) individual and ysme as a complete freak. this makes me love her even more. does loic have any personal interests or hobbies that others might think are really weird?
thank you for your interest. this may be a disappointing answer, but i think flower reading is loic’s weirdest interest by a pretty big margin. normal single dad who likes gardening and baking and piano and sitting in deep meditation on the flower that means “tender embrace” for an hour a day
january 15th will mark one month since soulsov prelude came out. so let's release the soundtrack then, ok?
here's the first song we made for the game. it started as my original composition, then toby made it listenable. i was so amazed when i heard the final version...

you will learn all about lelia in time. but she does go to school, so she does have to take artisanry classes. she is probably better than loic at it, in the same way that a kid who is currently taking trigonometry is better at it than her dad who thinks about math as little as possible

well yeah, i’ve been working on the music for chapter 2. it has not gotten any easier, but i am doing my best. if anything has changed, it’s that i’m attempting to make more “complete songs” before sending them to my collaborator to salvage, but inevitably my efforts crash into the “this shit is so ass” wall (note: i am there right now) so in reality not much has changed. thank you for the kind words, though.
