Thank you everybody who followed and shared the Evergreen Game Jolt page to get it to 10,000 followers! This game page is now the most successful GJ project I've ever hosted (beating the original POPGOES) and I am super thankful for it. It becomes clearer and clearer that POPGOES still has a lot of fans, and that new people are joining the community every day.
I promised that I would release some brand new material of Stone the Crow on the 26th of June (POPGOES' 5th Anniversary) or when the GJ page hits 10,000 followers, and here we are with that second goal reached, easily before the anniversary! So, here you are. Here is POPGOES Evergreen's Stone the Crow:
I also promised that if the milestone was reached before the anniversary, I'd throw in Stone the Crow's in-universe "cartoon design" (the design used to represent him in the restaurant's posters, etc). Sooo:
And lastly, as a final bonus from the dev team, we've thrown in a wallpaper in the same style as the Bare Endoskeleton one we released a short while back:
And a version without the logo for those on mobile who want to resize JUST the Stone part to fit their screens.
Lastly, I've updated my profile picture on social media to reflect the celebration (of Stone, I guess? haha). Hope you guys enjoy the new content. Would be awesome to see some new fanart of Stone with these references!
So how is the game going? Well, slowly, as you're probably used to by now... But the developments are always exciting.
Since the last update, we have:
Updated Stone's model! I've taken down the original teasers of Stone from the GJ page because the model used in those is a little outdated, though you can obviously access them elsewhere.
Made, from scratch, a brand new room for the pizzeria with a VERY unique theme. It replaces the Staff Room from the original game. We had a LOT of fun with this one and it looks awesome.
After LITERALLY a year of workshopping, we have finally settled on a design for Simon. For those unaware, Simon (the robot) is indeed returning in Evergreen, but he is EXTREMELY different (in terms of design and story). We absolutely love his new look and can't wait to get to work on his model.
I've added a new, extremely talented animator to our team. They haven't begun work yet (same with our composer, Radiarc) but they are excited to work with us and have done some incredible stuff in the past. I won't reveal who they are or any of their work just yet.
Created many more of the... around 100 collectibles (half being phone unlocks, half being something secret). We are over halfway finished with them now.
Continued work with the POPGOES Arcade premium expansion. It's taken a while to get back into that project but it is being worked on.
I think it's obvious at this point that a game like this is just naturally going to take a long time to make. It's a project with TONS of detail and effort put literally everywhere, in the characters, the environments... This is my opportunity to create and release the POPGOES series in its best possible form, so I think it's best to take our time with it. But don't worry, we work on it every single day and cancellation isn't really a possibility. It'll just take a long time, like Security Breach, Five Nights at Candy's 4, etc. Worth the wait like those games too!
Unrelated to Evergreen, I have created a Twitter account called POPGOES: Lost & Found, which is a profile I will use to show rediscovered and obscure content from the original POPGOES series! It will launch on POPGOES' anniversary (26th of June) but you can follow it in advance here: https://twitter.com/LostPOPGOES
Thanks everyone for your support and again I hope you enjoy the new stuff! The entire dev team and I are super thankful to have such excited and talented fans.
