One small thing that would make Salesforce "Help" articles more helpful, especially when talking about "permissions", would be to state where the "permission" now lives... For example, the Run Flows permission...it's now in App Permissions. It used to be in System Permissions and 99% of the "how to" video's or documents out there say it's in System Permissions, but no....not anymore.... 2 hours wasted..... thank God for reddit... In all seriousness...how hard would that be?...I mean, especially when you are enforcing a new change, etc.... #salesforce #help

Flow is super powerful, but be mindful of the performance, testing and architectural implications of adding too many layers of automation on the same object (triggers, apex classes, validation rules, and flows). All Salesforce resources working to develop or configure your platform should have a strong grounding in the Salesforce Order of Execution across the various automation methods.

Tests for Salesforce Flow. I have an idea. What if tests could be created using the same Flow canvas? That canvas then generates an Apex test class. Flow can parse it back into its test framework if changes are made to that Apex test class. This solves a couple of issues: ⌨️ Simplifies test generation for Flow users ⌨️ Apex tests already execute in CI/CD and testing pipelines ⌨️ Developers can grok these tests and add to them for more complex use cases This is a similar pattern to Mulesfoft Anypoint tests, with a visual canvas that can test your Mulesoft flows.* Flows get tests, devs can help with them, and there's minimal impact on pipelines. Question for the Salesforce Flow team , maybe Adam White? Inline editing for the Flow Datatable (yea, I know the unofficial one, does it). It's needed. And I am not just saying this because I have spent hours trying to think though my flow layout and end user design to allow a quick and easy way for my end users to make updates to a collection of records without having to go through additional clicks, loops, etc. Simple use case, if a client of ours has children, I want us to verify the information in the datatable and make changes right there. Done. So, what can I do to help make this happen? And why do I NOT want to use the unofficial app, you ask? I like using the official components, so when updates do happen, I only have to update the settings. Not delete the unofficial one, and modify all of the dependacies, etc and re-engineer my flow. I wish Salesforce description fields had placeholder text like this. How often do you feel the struggle where you don't know why an object/field/flow/etc was created, but the description is either missing or just a copy/paste of the name? 🤯 How often do you put descriptions when you're creating things in Salesforce?  I know why people skip it. I've been there, just adding something already explained in detail in the requirements about why it's important. Creating this one element is only a small piece of the bigger puzzle, and writing a description just seems unnecessary - it's obvious what this thing does, right? 🧐 Well, how obvious will it be years later when requirements have changed, someone else is working on it, or the original code has been modified so much that it's not easy to see why this thing is there? I've also been the one scratching my head a decade later when we're trying to figure out why something was created. 🤔 Yes, I've been working with Salesforce for that long... For those curious, this is from Metabase, where I was setting up some metrics related to our new beta of Potential Duplicates and noticed this.
