A man's body was "found in water" after emergency services were called to the Jericho area in Oxford, police have confirmed.
An air ambulance was in attendance and landed on Port Meadow, while other emergency responders closed Mount Place and Cranham Street to access the towpath.
Thames Valley Police (TVP), Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue and South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) were also in attendance.
TVP has since confirmed that the body of a man was found in the water after the force was called by SCAS to Mount Place, Jericho at around 8.49am.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Sadly, the body of a 50-year-old man was found in the water.

"His next of kin are aware and are being supported by officers at this time.
"His death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Oxfordshire County Council’s Fire and Rescue Service were also called at 8:49am, sending two fire engines from Rewley Road fire station, and a fire engine from Slade fire station.
A rescue tender vehicle from Kidlington Fire Station was also sent to the rear of Whitworth Place, Canal Street in Oxford.
A spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said: "An adult male was rescued from the water by the fire and rescue crews and then received care from the ambulance service prior to going to hospital.
"Fire and rescue crews left the scene at 10:15am."

TVP and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue both referred the Oxford Mail to SCAS for further comment.
A Thames Valley Air Ambulance spokesperson said: “We can confirm that our helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care at an incident in Oxford this morning."
Eyewitness Lisa Marie Davie said: "I was walking my dog and heard a lot of sirens, I walked past the bridge on Mount Place by the canal and saw paramedics on the opposite side treating a man.
"There were police, fire and paramedics on scene, and I also saw the air ambulance.
"It was horrible to witness that."
