Both found in N. FL. They look like little grubs 😛

Yeah it looks like a jar of bugs! How do they taste? I think I used to see these in FL all the time.

I haven't tried them pickled yet, but fresh they taste similar to a radish or water chestnut in texture. Not much flavor in them, but looking forward to them taking on flavor with the pickling.!

Wait those damn things are edible??? They grow in my yard like weeds sent by Satan to annoy me.

They're super prolific! My friend pulled up masses of them in her yard.

They're starchy like arrowroot or potatoes. I've been told you can dry and mill them into flour. I believe native tribes to Florida used to do it historically last I had researched.

I bet those are going to be super crunchy!

They're sooo crunchy! Very satisfying in that regard, like a radish or water chestnut

Found a patch of the wild garlic on the side of the road, thought it was walking onions. I relocated some to the garden. Rattlesnake weed is everywhere

Nice :) I'm planning to plant some of what I grabbed in some pots and see how they do!

That's what those bulbs are?! We had loads in our old back yard, always pulled them up when weeding and messing around back there. Didn't know they were edible

I recently learned they were as I usually dabble in fungi foraging. Now that I know what to look for, I've def seen them in every house I've lived in lol

Man I have looked for these forever and I just can’t find them in south Florida.

Woah, I’ve never seen these before; thank you for sharing🤙 Do you think they would grow in CT’s climate? Maybe by the shoreline?😋 If not, would you be interested in trading some time??😁 I grow ground nuts, eastern yampah (you have to pressure cook/bake them for a looong time, but the result is this caramely, melty, healthy treat🤤), and eastern camas if you ever wanna trade some roots🙌

Well I would be interested in doing so if you were in the state, I'm not sure what the rules are on packaging and shipping potentially invasive plants out of state?
