A Fredericksburg, Va., man has been charged with bank robbery after allegedly using tear gas during a holdup in Alexandria last winter.

Jeffrey Adams, 25, has been held without bond at the Alexandria jail since his arrest last week, police said. He is accused of robbing Central Fidelity Bank, 1101 King St., Feb. 9 after telling employees he had a grenade. As he left the bank, he tossed a tear gas canister on the floor, police said.
