Living with ADHD can present unique challenges when it comes to organising and managing daily tasks. The struggle to stay focused, maintain routines, and keep up with our responsibilities can be overwhelming. However, technology has come to the rescue with an app called Habitica. Allow me to explain how it works and how we ADHDers can utilised its gamified approach to task management to effectively organise and navigate our lives.

What is Habitica?

Habitica is a free task management app that combines productivity and gamification to transform your everyday tasks and goals into an engaging role-playing game. Available on both mobile and web browsers, Habitica presents a unique approach to task management by turning your real-life achievements, big and small, into in-game rewards.

How does Habitica work?

  • Create a character: Upon signing up, users create an avatar that represents them within the app. This character gains experience points (XP) and levels up based on completed tasks, forming an addictive incentive system.
  • Defining tasks: Habitica allows you to create a variety of tasks, including habits, ‘dailies’, and to-dos. Habits are actions you wish to encourage (or discourage), ‘dailies’ are recurring tasks you need to complete every day (or…

You had me at guilds. Makes me think of ESO on the Xbox 😂. I can't believe I haven't heard of this app, thank you so much for your post, it was very informative, I really need to check that app out.
