Kansas State has struck for the first time in the transfer portal. Former Oklahoma corner Jayden Rowe has committed to K-State.

The commitment for Rowe comes on the heels of a visit to Kansas State. He was in Manhattan on December 11th. It is unclear if another visit was taken or if it was his first visit since entering the transfer portal on Monday.

A hat tip goes to K-State cornerbacks coach Van Malone for working quickly to get the commitment of Rowe. The Tulsa native was a major priority of the Wildcats from the jump and Kansas State worked quickly to schedule a visit and the visit led to his commitment. K-State needs corners for the 2025 season with Keenan Garber graduating and Jacob Parrish declaring early for the NFL Draft. It would not be surprising to see another corner or two added by the Wildcats.

Part of the reason K-State was able to work quickly with Rowe was due to his recruitment out of high school. The Wildcats were one of the first schools to offer the cornerback out of high school in the 2022 class and used the prior relationship to land him out of the transfer portal.

While at Oklahoma Rowe’s playing time was pretty limited. He was hurt for the last two seasons and played in just four games for the Sooners primarily playing special teams. However, Rowe was a very heralded high school recruit and was a four-star on ESPN, 247, and On3 in the class of 2022. While at Tulsa Union High School, Rowe was also a major track athlete and ran a 10.46 100-meter dash as well as a 21.05 200-meter dash.

Overall counting the numbers from high school, the Tulsa native is the 26th total member of the 2025 recruiting class at Kansas State and the first transfer addition. He will come to Kansas State with two years of eligibility remaining but may have three depending on a medical hardship.
