His name on your lips

Summary:

Takes place in the "Rebuild yourself our family" universe.

Yuu received a certain incriminating video, effortlessly filling him with rage.

But how did that video come to be?

Explores the past of Mikaela, and his life in the vampire city after being turned, and the one vampire royal who reached out a hand to help.

Notes:

A short one-shot.

Some might be curious about details of Mika's past before reuniting with Yuu.

A few readers enjoyed lord Sieg, which was surprising, so here is a little more content of him and of course Mika.
An angsty ride for sure.

Note: Please read the original fic for context

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

He came to the party unannounced. After all, he was only in the country on an unexpected order from his father. But after those matters were dealt with, he had spare time. And there was only one thing he found remotely interesting here.

There were drinks served, and the overall vibe of the party was calm, royals and nobles updating each other on recent affairs. But behind all that, in a not so secret room, another party entirely was going down.

When he entered, the room smelled of alcohol and other substances. Something sweet, some type of incense? The other scent was a lot more recognizable, however.

Vampires didn't leave much smell, even during dubious activities. But the oils strongly associated with taboo pleasure nearly stung in his nose.

A certain youth was sprawled on top of a table, surrounded by men, more resembling a pack of starving hyenas, feasting on their prey. Blond hair, sapphire blue eyes, so unique and eye-catching in a country like this. One was currently rutting into him like a dog, the table shaking from the violent thrusts, as the sound of pleasured moans filled the area.

Another man kissed the youth on the lips, while letting the other one finish. But it took less than five seconds before a new man positioned himself between the youth's legs, and started using him just like the other had.

All the while, a certain nobleman witnessed the scene, with a smirk on his lips, and a phone camera in the youth's face.

The sight would make anyone's stomach turn.

"Ah, hah, yes, yes—!" the youth moaned. "You next, please—"

He grasped another man's clothes, pulling him into a kiss.

"Mikaela—" the men kept repeating his name.

"Mikaela, let me be next!"

"Mikaela, you are so beautiful!"

Mikaela's unfocused eyes moved between the men, though that seductive smile on his face didn't falter.

"Wait your turn~" he near purred.

"Have another sip of this," one of them offered a mug of red wine, and the blond accepted, drinking it down without interruption. He was already drunk, clearly, but they kept pouring more into him.

The silver-haired noble put the phone down at last, and smiled, not kindly though. There was something twisted and perverse with his smile. But the blond didn't seem to realize, perhaps somewhere else entirely at the moment, in mind and soul.

He'd seen enough, though, that was for sure. Without wasting any more time, the unexpected guest marched towards the table, and not so gently grabbed the man currently having his way with the blond, yanking him off.

Anger first filled his eyes, but it subsided when he realized just who had done it. The man's expression shifted to one of confusion, before he cleared his throat.

"Ahem, Lord Sieg, what a surprise," he said. "I don't mean to show you disrespect, but here everyone must wait for their turn—"

"I am not waiting for a turn," Sieg practically snarled at the man.

It was enough to make the male vampires back away from the blond. All except the silver-haired noble, calmly sitting by the table.

"My, my, Lord Sieg, this is unlike someone of your stature," he smirked.

"Ferid… What is this about?" Sieg questioned, but Ferid started waving his finger in front of him.

"We're just having a little fun. Do you see Mikaela complain?" he asked, pointing to the blond.

Mikaela was not complaining, that was true. But Sieg could tell that he wasn't there. There was no way he was in a state to resist if this did in fact bother him, and why would it not? Save for the men, Mikaela would never be this calm in Ferid's presence, certainly not looking at him almost… needily?

"What substances did you give him?" the vampire royal demanded to know, as alcohol alone couldn't be the answer.

"It's all harmless fun," was all Ferid responded, which got a growl out of Sieg.

By now, the other vampires had all retreated.

Sieg wanted to grab the silver-haired noble by his neck, and throw him out the nearest window. But the moment he reached for him, quite aggressively so, Ferid's hand wrapped around the royal's wrist.

He was strong, preventing any movement for the blue-haired vampire. He gritted his teeth when Ferid squeezed.

"Now, now, you have to remember," he leaned in slightly. "Your daddy isn't here now."

He was right. Had lord Urd been here, he might have felt more comfortable. But no matter, that didn't mean he shouldn't do anything. He forcefully freed his arm from the silver-haired man's grasp.

"I will take him back. That's non-negotiable," Sieg said, walking around the table to pull Mikaela towards him, and away from Ferid. "You may complain to Krul Tepes about my rude visit if you like."

Ferid simply shrugged.

"I won't stop you from taking him. After all, I've already had plenty of fun," he smirked, holding the phone camera up as some kind of trophy.

Sieg had to keep himself from exploding on him. It wouldn't do him any good, having a fight with Ferid of all people, especially since he knew of his own disadvantage, no matter how infuriating that fact was. He couldn't beat Ferid.

The blue-haired noble took the cape off his back, and used it to cover the blond, as he took him into his arms. He lifted him easily, and Mikaela was not aware enough to even realize what was happening. He had to be on some sort of 'party drug', there was no other explanation.

Without another word—as anything he wanted to say to Ferid at the moment involved heavy profanity—he carried Mikaela away, out of the room, while avoiding any area where people might be. The hallways were thankfully empty, and Sieg was able to take him far away.

In another floor of the building, Sieg found an empty room. He entered with the blond, and locked the door, before laying the young vampire down on a large bed.

When his back made contact with the soft material, he let out a sigh, still holding onto Sieg, arms around his neck. A hand snuck its way up, fingers intertwining with the wild locks of dark blue hair.

"Mm…" he groaned. "Yuu-chan…"

Hearing that name, Sieg's crimson eyes widened slightly.

"Mikaela, it's me," he said, pulling away from him, so their eyes could meet. "It's lord Sieg."

"Lord… Sieg…" Mikaela repeated, fingertips tracing the features of his face. "Ugh… I…"

"I know, you are clearly on something," the royal replied. "Do you remember what you took?"

"Just one pill—" the blond said defensively, turning his head away.

"Mikaela—!" Sieg sighed out in frustration. "This is self-destructive! You know that!"

"Father was watching me so… so it's ok…" the slurring vampire mumbled, in a way that was nearly incomprehensible.

"What? Father? Which father?" the royal asked.

To this question, Mikaela blinked in confusion.

"W-what…?"

"That's what I am wondering," Sieg shook his head. "You are clearly not in the right mind at the moment. Even called me the wrong name."

His words made Mikaela's cheeks flush dark red.

"Hypocrite…"

"What?" Sieg blinked.

"Hypocrite…!" Mikaela tossed around, now laying on his side, away from lord Sieg. "You… you see another woman in me… you're being a hypocrite…!"

"Oh…" Sieg was a bit shocked by his reaction. He tried to sit next to the blond, hoping to turn him back around. "You might be right… I am sorry."

Mikaela didn't respond, nor look at him.

"Do you want me to leave you alone?"

"No…" the blond weakly replied.

"I will join you, then," he said.

Sieg climbed into the bed, and laid right next to the younger vampire. Mikaela didn't move at first, but after a few minutes of silence, he gave in, and scooted closer to the royal, resting his face near the taller man's shoulder.

"…How can I ever look at Yuu-chan again?" the young blond's voice cracked a little.

Mikaela was not one to share his emotions easily, so this had to be the alcohol making him talk. His deeper worries and insecurities spilled out to the royal, who could only watch over him in concern, because he too had no idea how to handle emotions anymore.

"I am sure this won't bother him," was all he could think to reply.

The 'correct' answer, most likely. But not the truthful one, and both of them knew it.

"I am just a slut… he will be so ashamed of me…" Mikaela just continued so beat himself down.

"Drop the substances, then," Sieg suggested. "You lose any self-control the moment you are intoxicated."

"But… It all hurts so much… Always…" the blond closed his eyes. "I don't have any right to… say no…"

"I am sorry…"

Any words coming out of Sieg's mouth… They were useless, every single one of them. He was helpless against Mikaela's own self-deprecation.

So, he did the only thing he could.

He was present.

There, in that room, Sieg remained by Mikaela's side.

All while the blond's heart was crying for another man.

Notes:

I know this was very early on in Rebuild, but remember how Mika mentioned to Guren that nobles prefer him when he's drunk? Such incidents were not uncommon...

And, while it was only implied in the original fic, it's enforced here (and I guess confirmed in the notes, lol) that Mika felt drawn to Ferid because of features he shares with Shikama. Mika obviously didn't remember because of Shikama's mind-wipe, but Mika remembered subconsciously. As seen here, when he is intoxicated, a part of him starts seeing Shikama when he's with Ferid. Quite twisted isn't it?

At the same time, Mika looks for Yuu in Sieg... It's mostly their personalities, but one little detail is that Sieg's hair feels very similar to Yuu's when touching.

Mika must be quite lonely and miserable to look for his family in completely different people (even his abuser!) and be reckless with substances...

Thanks for reading!
