Some tropical bridians from summer 2023, these ones with some worldbuilding even! The clothing needs some figuring out but I like the direction it's going in.
I don't draw winged people actually fly often enough, so I did this at the start of 2023, it turned out nice!

Okay, I can’t keep putting this off. I barely remembered it was mermay and wasn’t that enthusiastic about it so ended up with just 4 pieces. It’s easier for me to make fanart than original stuff, so I found that mermaid AU on ao3 that I loved and read it again for inspiration, loved it again. So uh, @adraggynamedjade
In the first one I misunderstood that Goro was smaller than Ren, I’m sorry about that! Goro is acting hard to get but we all know he’s smitten. Second one, no one likes it, and I keep explaining the prompt was warrior, it’s angery Ren. Third one is when they were out hiding from the investigators on their island. The fourth one, I don’t like Star Wars so I just had them explain what constellations each of them know. This was a great chance to try to learn watercolors too.
I had an idea for the royalty prompt that Ren would find crowns in shipwrecks, or Futaba or Wakaba would show or tell him and he’d set out to make a crown for Goro, because he’s the king of Ren’s life or some other corny shit.
Finally drew out the wing AU I have in my head, because of course there is one. Akira and Goro have wings because magical creature AU and Akira hides his while Goro trims his own as much as he can, which is very bad, but his new friends will make him let his wings recover. Haven’t written it out yet, sadly. This is May, so pretty recent.
Finally both new designs are here! Was playing with the length of the ‘’arm’’ in the first one, keeping the wingspan the same, and asked friends for their opinions. Ended up basing it on the swallow tailed kite after all, short arm and all. Then some more sketches, though the fourth picture has the wings too short, don’t think there would be that much blue, more like iridescent, but I was too tempted. The last one had the wing refs, so I tried to give them the human poses.

First is gift for best friend, showed her the purples I can make and had her choose her favorite, Prussian blue and quinacridone rose, very great choice, and the second is a gift for another friend, who also chose their favorite color combo, Indian yellow and phthalo blue, for their tiefling Selir. I feel like it has a storybook vibe. Then limited color landscape with acrylics from reference. Hard.Then Persona, the fic again! And got actual tube watercolors, and the last is ink. leafandart Follow I finally made myself just sketch without worrying about the final product. Here we have Fen’s new design, Cassius not yet. Some poses had human references where I filled in the wings, some had wing references where I filled in the humans. The second to last one got to be a digital drawing because I liked it.
