Persephone had taken the day off from work, because she was sick and tired of avoiding the elephant in the room. Several months ago she'd discovered that any jewelry crafted by her gained properties which could only be described as magic.

An ear-clip which tickled her ear if she heard a malicious lie. A ring which heated itself up slightly if she touched a counterfeit coin. A tie clip which protected their owner from getting strangled. And last, but definitely not least, a necklace which gave the wearer the ability to remove their head.

She currently wore that last one, because how could she not want to try it? The rest of the effects one could sort of explain away, but being able to treat one's head as if it were a hat? She just had to try that out.

So, at the start of business today Persephone closed the blinds, posted a note claiming that she was feeling poorly, fished out a wicker basket from storage, arranged a towel to cushion the interior and set it on the writing desk in her bedroom.

She also took her blouse and jeans off as well as her bra, although why she removed those articles of clothing...Persephone wasn't sure.

She sat down at the desk, put her hands at the base of her jawline and lifted.

Persephone had been expecting her point-of-view to stay with her head or, failing that, her necklace. What she hadn't been expecting was for it to transform so utterly. Sight and sound vanished but as to what replaced them was..she had no words. 'Threads' which gave the impression of racing along surfaces, Stationary objects pulsing with waves and other things...was this what an acid trip was like?

Carefully, Persephone placed her head in the basket and reached up to touch her neck stump...

When she's headless Persephone cannot see, hear or speak, mainly because her head is 'turned off' for lack of a better term. She's not completely helpless though since she gains electro-sensing (like a shark) and vibration-sense so acute she can feel the slightest of air currents.

Oh, her sense of touch also goes through the roof.
