Rika's characterization is like the opposite of Saikoroshi (she fears going outside of the loops and needs development for that rather than feeling invincible now that she won the loops). Hanyuu is also still around physically unlike in Saikoroshi and we see her still being there in human form in early 84 at least (Note in Saikoroshi they don't even mention her even when Rika has been in the hospital for one month, so it's not just a matter of her taking spirit form temporarily).

R07's write up at the end of Kokoroiyashi is all about infinite fragments branching from Matsuribayashi. So, that's definitely the author's intention.

That's more on Keiichi coming from a better school on top of being considered a gifted child, but it doesn't change the fact that, even with what the school was actually teaching, Mion was lackluster keeping up with it and simply leeched off her younger classmate.

By the same token, I could say Shkanon's method of disguise is also common in fiction. Using a change in demeanor and clothes to hide your identity is what Superman does. My main problem with Umineko's mystery is the whole person = persona stuff and how it works with the red. eg its said in red Shannon's death in EP 3 wasn't a suicide, implying a framing of the Beatrice persona killed the Shannon persona which is very funny.

Part of the problem there also is that Umineko smugly claims to follow certain rules, while Higurashi doesn't. So Higurashi's trick of brain parasites twisting people's perceptions is absurd, but there's no reason not to accept it, while Umineko's disguise trick while maybe less fantastic is going to get nitpicked more.

Hanyuu outright talks about reversing time in Saikoroshi, rather than just sending Rika to another similar world. But she couldn't do it due to the fragment inside that world somehow rejecting her. So, as soon as Rika could eliminate the element rejecting Hanyuu's existence (her mother's existence as the eighth generation) Hanyuu could also bring her back. So, going just by Saikoroshi, you can see it as Hanyuu just being able to do that.

According to Higurashi Mei, it's due to that jewel Rika was using to communicate with Hanyuu in Saikoroshi, the Kamu no Mikotonori. Its true power isn't just talking between fragments, it outright can send you to a past fragment. The same explanation from above is why it couldn't just be used for that from the start though and Rika had to kill her mother (also why there was a time limit to Rika killing her mother and she had to do it before a certain point otherwise she couldn't return to her world, just like the Kamu no Mikotonori was running out of power due to Hanyuu not existing that world).

Oh that's right you can't because you have no idea how hard it is to write a story. Higurashi Gou is an amazing sequel to Higurashi and it builds upon the work laid down from Higurashi and Umineko. Satoko and Rika are obviously Lambda and Bern so a sequel where we see these two fall in love and become witches was the most logical conclusion Ryukishi could've gone with when writing a sequel.

Satoko was a non-character with almost zero development making her seem very flat and poorly written when compared to the others and her romantic interest in Rika was clear to see from as early as Minagoroshi with Rika being the one closest to her heart. You may not like it but get over it nobody stays the same growing up. How many adults do you know act exactly how they were when they were 12?? Stop talking trash about Higurashi Gou and Umineko if you don't like them then just leave this fandom already you do not belong here.

The original Higurashi had a similar message with the new winds of change, and it is clear that they didn't mean change in such a black or white way. Part of Oryou's development in the answer arcs of the original Higurashi is accepting change without burning down the old. Satoko also struggled with adapting to change in Gou/Sotsu/Meguri and acted out. It's a common part of human nature. Regardless of how you feel about the comedic plot resolutions, the answer arc had some good answers to common but significant worries from the modern era. It's okay to want to preserve your culture and separate if others cause you grief, but you should also respect the personal space of others. It is also not a bad thing to defend your home and culture if threatened, as given in the example with Inori's father. The Sonozaki leader shows that sometimes big conflicts and misunderstandings may have silly roots that can be easily resolved without fighting through mutual understanding. Even someone like Marutake can be given a chance to turn around if shown the error of his ways and if he touches grass. If Marutake lets Hinamizawa live rent-free in his head, it would lead to further conflict and it's healthiest for him to leave forever in that case. However, Keiiichi also shows that forgiveness and brotherhood is possible despite his past actions. In multiple of the plot resolutions, there is also a message that it is okay to have embarrassing fetishes and hobbies. Living in the closet and letting them fester into resentment is unhealthy, but it is also fine to keep them secret as long as you don't push them on others.
I can go on, but there is a lot of meaning to be found in Irotoushi-hen if you take the time to look with an open mind. Is it extremely deep and mind-blowing? No, but it has inherent value and merit.

I remember checking out a few of those character blurbs a while back and they did seem rather off. Like, either Natsuhi or Kanon's blurb talks about her being particularly harsh on him because of Jessica, but that's never really shown in the VN, if anything she seems to respect him more than Shannon, and she spends a good chunk of ep 1 relying on him. It's like they were written by someone who had a vague idea of the storyline but hadn't actually read them.

Nope, that's only in the 07th mod.

Onikakushi/Watanagashi/Tatarigoroshi are all integrated into a "general route" of sorts (although newer versions force you to play Onikakushi straight to the ending before restarting with choices). These also have unique events from none of the routes, like more time hanging out with one of the girls. Or you can visit Angel Mort at a different time and ending up actually meeting Shion there, not Mion. Also, during the doll scene, in addition to giving it to Mion or Rena, Keiichi can just take it for himself or exchange the prize (these later two are the only ways to avoid wata/mea before Minagoroshi, because Mion talking happily to Shion about Keiichi still ends up remding her of Satoshi and triggering the events of those arcs). You can also have Keiichi notice when Shion pretends to be Mion pretending to be her in Angel Mort.

Either way, eventually, you get locked into one of the questions arcs, or find scenes that unlock other arcs (There is a scene where Keiichi meets Natsumi and Mion in Okinomiya and this is what unlocks Onisarashi in-game, even though Keiichi isn't involved in Onisarashi).

Unlocking some of these scenes can bring slight changes to the arcs though, like Natsumi being the one reporting that Kiichiro disappeared in Watanagashi/Meakashi rather than the nameless Kimiyoshi that does it in the original route. The above mentioned Keiichi recognizing it isn't Mion is actually necessary for an alternate Meakashi ending in the actual console game where Keiichi once again notices it's not Mion at the end during the torture scene.

Tsukiotoshi is a Tatarigoroshi variation where Shion, Rena and Keiichi all go L5 teaming up to kill Teppei. They actually do kill him, but you can imagine how easily they turn against each other afterwards. And, yeah, it turns out Satoko was L5 too, and she seemed to take Shion taking her away to protect her as she kidnapping her (although Shion's death off-screen, so we don't really see Satoko's reasoning). Mion infiltrates the group, but ends up killed by Rena and Keiichi once they learn she's an impostor since Shion was dead.

It's a pretty dumb arc though, yeah. The writing is oddly simplistic. Both of the extra "bad ending" early arcs they added are noticeably weaker writing-wise than the rest of the console content for some reason (although the versions in the 07th mod don't help at all since you're skipping all the events leading up to them).
