      An investigation is being carried out after a man died when a tree fell on to his van during Storm Darragh.

      Emergency services were called at about 9am on Saturday after the incident on the A59 at Longton close to Lancashire Police Headquarters.

      The man, in his forties, who has not yet been named, was driving his Citroën van on the dual carriageway when the tree fell on to his vehicle causing serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
