New Island (Japanese: ニューアイランド / New Island) is an island located in the northeast of Tohoak. It most distinguishing feature is the Pokémon Castle, where Mewtwo sits as the Gym Leader of the island.

Route 513 leads into New Island from the south.

New Island Gym[]

The New Island Gym is the official Gym of New Island. It is a part of the Pokémon Castle. The Gym Leader is Mewtwo who took away the real Gym Leader of the island. If Mewtwo does not seems to use a particular type of Pokémon, he uses a "category" of Pokémon: Clone Pokémon, which are based on Ash's Pikachu and Charizard, a Scyther, Corey's Bruteroot (Venusaur), and Neesha's Shellshocker (Blastoise). Trainers who defeat him receive the Mirach Badge.
