It appears that Bethesda is now offering an account "display name" renaming service. If you change your Bethesda.net display name, you must also manually update it in perkloadoutmanager.ini in your Data folder for PLM to continue recognizing your loadouts. Steps to do this are provided in the Description.

Version 2.20 is compatible with the HUD for the June 20 2023 Update. If you don't use the HUD loadout display, I believe the HUDless optional download is still working without issue. If there are issues with it let me know and I'll update it.

I'll make improvements to the loadout functionality soon.

The HUD-less (v2.10) doesn't allow the opening of perk card packs at all.  Maybe something to do with the new option to open them all at once?

EDIT: newer versions with HUD work fine.  Just the old HUD-less that's broken.  I can just swap mods to open perk card packs.

Is it possible to have different set of loadouts for every punch card machine loadout? That would be perfect one for this mod.

P.S. Thank you for this brilliant mod, as many othes, i think it's #1 for F76 too <3

This is one of the best mods, I cannot live without it. Ever since the June 2 update if I try to Pick a Perk, when I choose a card it locks the game up and I have to restart the game and disable the mod, then I can Pick a Perk card and then enable the mod. Not sure if its because I have windows 11, none of my other friends have the issue. I am using Quick Configuration Mod Mgr.

I don't think it's not frozen per se.  just waiting for input and doesn't let you back out of the save perk loadout.

I am curious how bad this mod is going to break with the December update and all the Perk changes... and is Keretus still maintaining it? This is probably my #1 mod in the game and it would be devastating to lose it. I've sent numerous donations your way Keretus and am happy to send more if this gets updated for the upcoming patch. Thanks for everything you do for the community.

Temporary fix to manually update your builds in the config file (would recommend keeping a copy of the original file just in case).
Credit Farscape1001 for working this out.
You will need to create fresh builds for step 1 for each slot as this will avoid errors caused by the changes to perk cards.

    Instructions:
    1. IMPORTANT: Create a new build on nukes & dragons e.g.
    https://nukesdragons.com/fallout-76/character?v=2&cd=0k00000000&ef=&l=x&s=f3d5f7e&p=sb3sr3s33sq3sx3p11pq2l71ee1s72e91s84eh3ce1cu3c21ic5ir3ip3s12id2a72a05lu3lb3lt3ls3lg1l21&swp=&ars=&lp=&wp=&n=heavyflamer

You will need to create fresh builds for each slot as this will avoid errors caused by the changes to perk cards.

    2. From the new build copy the long string of characters between the = and & e.g.
    sb3sr3s33sq3sx3p11pq2l71ee1s72e91s84eh3ce1cu3c21ic5ir3ip3s12id2a72a05lu3lb3lt3ls3lg1l21

    3. Paste this into a blank text file and every 3rd character decrease that number by 1 e.g.
    sb2sr2s32sq2sx2p10pq1l70ee0s71e90s83eh2ce0cu2c20ic4ir2ip2s11id1a71a04lu2lb2lt2ls2lg0l20

    4. Copy and paste a previous slot with the old format in the config file e.g.
    SLOT9=https://nukesdragons.com/fallout76/perks?v=1&s=8179d6c&d=s01s20sa0s60sb2p10e10eq0e70e80eb0e40c30c52c60ce0if2ie2i71im1in1ii0at1s72au0lu2lb2l90l62l71lm2&w=&n=camppowearmour&m=&shared=s60

    5. Update the slot number at the beginning to the desired and the loadout name at the end. Then take your new code from step 3 and replace the long string between the = and & e.g.

    SLOT10=https://nukesdragons.com/fallout-76/perks?v=1&s=8179d6c&d=sb2sr2s32sq2sx2p10pq1l70ee0s71e90s83eh2ce0cu2c20ic4ir2ip2s11id1a71a04lu2lb2lt2ls2lg0l20&w=&n=heavyflamer&m=&shared=s60

    6. Save the config file and reopen the perk screen in game. Should now be showing and usable.

These steps are actually very quick and easy to do and have worked for me even with perks which have swapped categories and had their cost changed.

If there is an error I would check step 3 by pasting another copy of the original string from step 2 below it to check and just check every third character to make sure the number is correct.

You can use any of your previous slots as the copy (or just use the example code from step 4) as the special points in the URL don't matter. The mod is just taking the perk card details and the slot name from the URL which you are replacing in step 5.

If you try and load the updated URL in a browser you will get a 404 error but the mod should read it fine.

Yes, N&D messed up a bit when porting from the previous version to the current one. New perk cards are not being converted properly, so either remove&re-add updated perks or, as mentioned above, rebuild from scratch.

The main problem is that they moved all ranks up by 1, so we need to lower them all by 1. And repeat it with all your slots! 😂

This works for the most part, but it was giving me issues with Starched Genes and Batteries Included, both of which had their cost reduced and as such need to be dropped an additional digit if you had them maxed out prior to the update. If you did, Starched Genes is "l71" (or "l72" prior to dropping one digit across the board) and should be changed to "l70," whereas Batteries Included is "s12" (or "s13") and should be changed to "s11." This might apply to other perks that had their costs changed in the update, and if so, you can find their IDs by just creating a blank slate build with only the particular perk cards that were changed in cost.

Edit: alright, this is on me, turns out it's a result of updating existing builds rather than starting from scratch as suggested in step one. If you actually start from scratch, perks that had their costs changed will have the correct value. I'll leave this up (even if it makes me look foolish) because it may still help someone like me that has a lot of builds and would prefer to update them rather than start from scratch each time.

I let ChatGPT build a small webpage that does the conversion for you. Just save it as a html file and open with your browser.

Paste a new nukesdragons URL into the upper field, enter something in the "slot" and optionally "name" field and click convert. The resulting URL can be pasted into your perkloadoutmanager.ini

Worked fine for me, but use at your own risk :)

Code is in the open domain, re-use as you please.

I wanted to post the code in here, but it didn't work, so here's a download link:
      https://www.sendspace.com/file/60lfpk

Disclaimer: If you don't have the technical knowledge to ensure its safety, never run code from strangers. Let others do it and confirm it's safe. But maybe we'll already have an updated PLM by then :)

Edit #3: I just noticed that SFE has been updated, so this is probably obsolete already :)

Any videos or instructions on how to save the config file of the build on Nukes and Dragons? I have tried a dozen times and the slot just says "NO SAVE".
I copy the line in the config file and paste in the browser.
The page opens and I make my changes.
I copy to the clipboard after it is how I want it.
I paste it on the slot I first copied it from.
I save the new config file.
I open the game and the slot says "NO SAVE"
Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

That's been happening since the last big patch as well. It's due to SFE being out of date. Ask a workaround, you can remove the SFE file  (dxgi.dll) from the Fallout76 game folder. Perk Loadout Manager will still work as intended. This will enable you to pick new cards and open packs again. Until SFE is updated, you'll still have to manually change your loadout outside of the game.

Looks like this mod has finally been broken by the latest update. Cannot get the "Saved Slots" grid to display at all while in the Perk Loadout screen.
I *do* see the messages on screen to select slots and save to slots, but the actual slot grid is vanished and slot selection does not work despite having configured loads saved to the config file.

    Help?

Issue seems to be the new format for the nukes&dragons build planner, I had my new builds all ready to go and when I logged in the grid with all the slots was missing but when I swapped back to my old loadouts it came back.

Haven't been able to find a way around this yet.  The beta build planner for n&d is now the default and loading an old build will change to the new format and will break the mod.  If SFE gets updated first you might be able to set up and save your builds in game until the mod gets fixed but not sure if the changed perks would end up breaking that.

I can confirm the same thing, now that you've pointed it out.
Just erasing the [v=2] section of the loadout URL doesn't fix it, either. (The website can still resolve the URL as a Version 2 format if you do, but the mod still won't work).

I left a message on the N&D discord but it's not really a "them" problem so don't know if they could or would want to help with a fix on their end.  Without an update to this mod we'd need a build planner half way between the old and new versions that offers the changed perks but with the original formatting that the mod can actually read.

Good news and bad news.  Good news is I figured out how to get the new build planner loadouts to load in game, bad news is for now it's still broken and will try to load the perks one rank higher than they should be.

If you look at the new url format there's a section at the font that looks like
      /character?v=2&cd=0k00000000&ef=&l=x&s=9744aaa&p
where the 9744aaa is my special for that loadout and will change based on whatever yours is.  You essentially need to gut most of that information and revert the rest to the old format, so in my case it would look like
      /perks?v=1&s=9764aaa&d=
So you need to change character to perks, the version from v=2&cd to v=1&s, remove the entire bit in the middle and then change the &p at  the end to an &d.

That will at least load the grid in game though again now we'd have to figure out how to fix the rest of it

works *(empties your loadout though lol) so what I figure it is doing is the OLD card versions are still in the planner, and this is trying to 'pull' the new versions (which happen to be lv 1 versions of all of them, even rank 1 cards) so loads 'nothing'

someone just has to identify what each card is, card by card, to manually do this. Would likely take more time to do that than to just wait for update LOL

And one last bit of good news for the impatient people that don't want to wait and don't mind editing everything themselves, I figured out the rest of the problem that'll let you turn the new N&D url's into ones compatible with the current mod.

The part of the URL  that loads the perks looks something like this
      sz1s02s21sg3sb3p01pk1pl1pd1pp3eh3eu1ce1cu3s13ic5ir3ii1is3a04an3a13ao1a31a52lv3lu3lk3lg3la3l72sw1ee1am1lr1lt3e91e71eb1eo1
Where each perk is represented by three letters/numbers.  so in this loadout the first perk I have loading is arms keeper rank 1, which is  represented by "sz1".  Problem is the mod reads things starting at zero so it sees sz1 and thinks it's Arms Keeper Rank 2.  So what you need to do is go through every perk and downgrade it by 1.  So sz1 becomes sz0, s02 becomes s01, 2s2 becomes 2s1 and so on.

Then I chopped off some extra stuff they added at the end which gives me a functional loadout... well mostly functional I probably f'd up some substitutions while I rushed through it but you get the gist.
      https://nukesdragons.com/fallout-76/perks?v=1&s=9764aaa&d=sz0s01s20sg2sb2p00pk0pl0pd0pp2eh2eu0ce0cu2s12ic4ir2ii0is2a03an2a12ao0a30a51lv2lu2lk2lg2la2l70sw0ee0am0lr0lt2e90e70eb0eo0&swp&w=&n=Rifleman

See the second post I just wrote up to fix this, the reason it loads blank is because when N&D changed the format for the planner they changed how they numbered the perk cards, so when you use your new url the old mod is trying to load cards one rank off which you don't have.

Ya did what u said adn it worked (although I am SUPER confused how i had 16 perks worth on str BEFORE i adjusted this lol, oh well)

(I had 15 perks loaded in somehow but was 16 total special value worth, when I made the fix u suggested above, it reported I was missing incisor rank 2, I only had rank 3 in card bank and it was loaded before i did the change along with all my other cards)

I was messing around with it and this is what worked for me.  Each perk seems to be stored as a triplet in that string, which I believe is 2 characters for ID and then the rank.  You have to take the N&D perks string out, reduce all the ranks by 1 AND for the many perks that had their ranks reduced, you'll have to adjust those as well.  What you can do is watch for the load errors, then go into N&D and make an empty build with just those perks with load errors.  That will only have your 'bad' perks in it, so you'll know which ones you need to adjust further.  Keep reducing the ranks by one until all your perks are loading properly.  I've managed to get one new loadout down.  I'll probably do another one or two then wait for SFE update.

Good news though is that there doesn't seem to be anything broken with Perk Loadout Manager itself and I suspect things will work just fine once SFE updates.  Of course, we need a few loadouts to holds us over given the update broke every build.

sorta kinda works, first build was autoaxe, and had no issues(once i found the help here) but following same route with the pepper shaker build(which has both shotgun and heavy weapon perks) it fails to load. Same cards I have on OTHER build keep coming up as wrong (ie rank 2 starched genes does not exist' error, even with accounting for it)

this last attempt hardly nay cards come out, i figure it is just me messing up somewhere and missing one, but regardless gone though it over and over and over and each time just end up having MORE error cards

And this is just the 2nd damn loadout.

I feel the issue is that it is too many total perk cards and it is struggling to load them (the other is basically just all lv 3 cards so fewer total cards, the peppershake is a lot of lv 1 and 2 so many perks) - either way I've gone over it and other than the values of the perks themselves, it is no different than the load out that actually works. (Even the same cards that are erroring are showing properly and are listed as I am changing them to in the 2nd, like starched genes)

If anyone else decides to do this themselves I'd suggest using chat gpt to make some of it easier, i'd already broken the string representing the perks down into groups of three and was about to downgrade them one by one when I realized I could just feed them to the AI to do it for me.  You'll run into some errors though when it comes to a few of the perks that didn't seem  to translate over properly for some reason, think I had issues with Starched Genes and one or two others and had to go through and figure out which ones they were and adjust them myself.

As farscape said you can just downgrade the code quite easily but its very simple and really don't need chat gpt, just go along in a basic text file and just click the right arrow 3 times and replace the preceding number and repeat along the whole string. However will need to have created a new build on nukes & dragon as that will avoid any issues where cards have had their cost decreased.

      Instructions:
      1. IMPORTANT: Create a new build on nukes & dragons e.g.
      https://nukesdragons.com/fallout-76/character?v=2&cd=0k00000000&ef=&l=x&s=f3d5f7e&p=sb3sr3s33sq3sx3p11pq2l71ee1s72e91s84eh3ce1cu3c21ic5ir3ip3s12id2a72a05lu3lb3lt3ls3lg1l21&swp=&ars=&lp=&wp=&n=heavyflamer

      2. From the new build copy the long string of characters between the = and & e.g.
      sb3sr3s33sq3sx3p11pq2l71ee1s72e91s84eh3ce1cu3c21ic5ir3ip3s12id2a72a05lu3lb3lt3ls3lg1l21

      3. Paste this into a blank text file and every 3rd character decrease that number by 1 e.g.
      sb2sr2s32sq2sx2p10pq1l70ee0s71e90s83eh2ce0cu2c20ic4ir2ip2s11id1a71a04lu2lb2lt2ls2lg0l20

      4. Copy and paste a previous slot with the old format in the config file e.g.
      SLOT9=https://nukesdragons.com/fallout76/perks?v=1&s=8179d6c&d=s01s20sa0s60sb2p10e10eq0e70e80eb0e40c30c52c60ce0if2ie2i71im1in1ii0at1s72au0lu2lb2l90l62l71lm2&w=&n=camppowearmour&m=&shared=s60

      5. Update the slot number at the beginning to the desired and the loadout name at the end. Then take your new code from step 3 and replace the long string between the = and & e.g.

      SLOT10=https://nukesdragons.com/fallout-76/perks?v=1&s=8179d6c&d=sb2sr2s32sq2sx2p10pq1l70ee0s71e90s83eh2ce0cu2c20ic4ir2ip2s11id1a71a04lu2lb2lt2ls2lg0l20&w=&n=heavyflamer&m=&shared=s60

I know this is a big ask, but do you intend to update this to match the new perk cards etc following the December 3rd update?

Love your work, your program has been central to my enjoyment of the game! :D

Yea am hoping the errors I am getting are due to the new perks, but the old way(when SFE was not updated) of adjusting loadouts (using the nukes and dragons planner) simply fails to load anything, does not work, when u add it to the ini file. The OLD ones still attempt to load(they miss cards but they DO load) so I think this may need a pretty big update.

Sadly the creator of mod does not seem to play fo76 any more and (Afaik anyways) still sorta keeps up with SFE, so am hoping he does this too, but idk if he would even want to continue if he no longer plays, to do any extensive fixes.

I hope someone can come up with a new mod if not, this game would likely not be as enjoyable without this mod.

Hi, I'm not clear on how to create new buils. If I hit 1,2 or 3 it doesn't take away my main build cards. How do I create

Are there plans to restructure/update this mod to work with the PTS and also the next major fallout 76 update?, Most current mods that include .SWF files seem to not work within the current PTS, including very basic ones like "Improved health bars".

Are we able to have the HUD be optional or removed entirely? I thought the (No HUD loadout notification) version would do that
