The holy grail of a home makeover is adding value to your most significant investment while tailoring it to meet your family’s needs. The interior designer Rukmini Patel increased the value of one client’s property — a three-bedroom Edwardian home in Stratford-upon-Avon — by 60 per cent.

The property was bought in 2019 for £470,000 by a professional couple with two children under five. Recent valuations have averaged £750,000. The St Albans-based decorator reveals how she added £280,000 in value.
