1. WooCommerce Plugin Testnet Launch

The highly anticipated WooCommerce payment plugin is now live on the testnet! This plugin enables businesses to seamlessly integrate Xelis payments into their WooCommerce stores, offering a streamlined, secure payment system. The testnet release is a critical step toward the full launch, empowering businesses to embrace Xelis-powered e-commerce solutions.

2. Revamped Xelis Website and Updated Roadmap

In November, we rolled out an updated Xelis website that features expanded details about our project and a revised roadmap highlighting the exciting milestones ahead. The site now serves as a one-stop resource for community members, potential partners, and newcomers, offering in-depth insights into Xelis’s technology and vision.

3. Xelis Virtual Machine (XVM) and Smart Contracts Progress 💻

The Xelis Virtual Machine (XVM) is a groundbreaking, fully customizable virtual machine designed for smart contracts and blockchain applications. It integrates a robust suite that includes:

Lexer
Parser
Assembler
Compiler
Virtual Machine

The associated programming language, Silex, features a syntax inspired by Rust. Unlike traditional VMs, XVM emphasizes customization, allowing developers to define their own types, functions, structures, and enums. Primitive types are natively supported, making XVM uniquely flexible for a variety of use cases.

Key Progress and Features

Customizability: Developers can fully tailor the VM, including default libraries.
Efficient Syntax: Silex’s Rust-inspired design ensures familiarity for modern developers.
Direct Primitive Type Support: Simplifies implementation while enhancing performance.

Remaining Tasks for MVP Completion 🏁

To achieve the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and enable the seamless operation of XVM, the following tasks are prioritized:

Shunting Yard Algorithm for Parser

Current Issue: Mathematical operations don’t adhere to proper precedence rules.
Task: Implement the Shunting Yard algorithm to ensure expressions are parsed correctly.

2. Parser Optimization

Current Issue: Operates in full recursive mode, risking stack overflow for deeply nested expressions.
Task: Rewrite key components to iterative logic to handle complexity more robustly.

3. File Imports

Current Need: Enhance code organization by enabling the importing of other files.
Task: Develop an import system for better modularity.

4. ABI (Application Binary Interface) Generation

Objective: Generate “mapper” files to link entry functions, enums, and structs to their corresponding chain IDs.
Benefits: Simplifies integration with the upcoming XSWD library and facilitates dApp development.

5. VM Optimizations

Objective: Enhance the VM’s speed to reduce smart contract execution costs.
Focus Areas: Optimize performance to support scalability and lower transaction fees.

4. Xelis Developer Playground Beta is LIVE! 🚀

The Xelis Developer Playground Beta went live in November, providing developers with an interactive, web-based environment to explore the Xelis Virtual Machine (XVM). Key features include:

💻 Customizable VM: Experiment with smart contracts by adding functions, opcodes, and more.
🌐 Learn Silex: Master Xelis’s unique smart contract language, inspired by Rust but optimized for dApps and DeFi.
🔧 Seamless Development: Write, test, and debug contracts directly in your browser without any local setup.

5. Genesix Wallet: Exciting Update Brewing! 🌟

The team is hard at work on the next big Genesix Wallet update, v0.0.7, with future plans to release it on the App Store and Play Store. Here’s what’s coming:

🔧 Custom Fee Settings: Users will have full control over transaction speeds, ensuring smooth interactions even during peak chain usage. This is especially critical as DeFi activity ramps up with token swaps and smart contracts on Xelis.
📱 QR Code Scanning: A convenient feature that will make transactions faster and more user-friendly.

This update sets the stage for Genesix Wallet to become an even more powerful tool in the Xelis ecosystem, empowering users with greater flexibility and ease of use. Stay tuned — flexibility in the fast lane is coming soon!

6. Marketing and Partnerships

November marked an exciting period for marketing and partnerships:

🛒 Xelis Merch Store: The official Xelis merch store is nearly ready to launch! Soon, the community will be able to purchase Xelis-branded merchandise, allowing supporters to represent the project in style and deepen their connection with the ecosystem.
🤝 CEX Listings and Partnerships: We’re actively engaged in discussions with major centralized exchanges (CEXs) and other partners to expand Xelis’s reach and utility. These collaborations are part of our strategy to enhance adoption and strengthen the ecosystem. Please keep a close watch as we announce some key partnerships within the month of December.

8. Xelis Design Challenge: Create the Ultimate Xelite Space Conqueror! 👨‍🚀

The Xelis community was thrilled to announce the Xelis Design Challenge, inviting you to unleash your creativity and design the ultimate Xelite — a futuristic, tech-savvy space warrior ready to conquer the galaxy! Whether it’s sleek alien armor, high-tech gadgets, or holographic enhancements, your vision will help define this bold new mascot. The top 3 winners will share an impressive prize pool of 100 XEL, with 75 XEL going to first place!

Submissions are due by December 27th, 2024, 20:00, and should be uploaded to the “contest” sections of our Telegram or Discord channels. Winning designs must be finalized as SVG files for approval.
