Here's a fun planning doc from Williams dev, late 1997. P2K was in the planning phases to launch in early '99 but we needed more games to fill the pipeline until then. One more game from Lawlor and one from Piotrowsky, a new designer. The rumored Big Bang Bar conversion project was real.

And now that I look at this I have to go back and try to remember what happened in 1998. Medieval and Bash went a bit farther than 2,500 units (thanks, Lyman). But Champion Pub and Cactus were cut short. And Lawlor's game was cancelled (long story). We didn't launch Pin2000 until January 1999.
Yup. We needed a game to fill the pipeline and Capcom had just closed. Some covert negotiations happened to get the design files + 1 game, and Graham West started early work on converting the playfield to the Williams hardware. We even made a whitewood. I have a pic of it somewhere, I'll look.
