8 days to go. Not going back to all the comments you said you'd research. Not doing anything about the unobtainable stretch goals. Not addressing complaints about the gameplay video having no subtitles, not showing full gameplay and cutting things out, looking incredibly boring. Now the latest update is about how very few of us would be able to see the miniatures in person, sod the rest of us I guess. The fact this is supposed to be a board game but even the attendees wouldn't be bale to play it, just look at the figures is truly astounding logic. I eagerly await your "apologies" and generic copy/paste reply.
Dont let his project put you off crowdfunding. A lot of projects are much better than this one. The only reason this game is doing so well is because of the IP.
Today update comes about display in Tokyo Figure gallery in Akihabara. Honestly, this update and event has no meaning they haven’t decided where to order.
A few backers can say this is an event worth to go. For example, I need to pay nearly ¥60000 and several hours for one way as travel cost. Almost same with backing and whole a day outside of plan. Plus, the gallery opens in only weekends and holidays. In this case, Dec. 6th, 7th, 8th and 13th.
Why they never grab their iPhone or Android and go to take photos? The world map contains only Tokyo (as many IPs are so)? That’s just a walk for them.
This is so weird situation, this is not a local CF.
And then, there will no update for rules or playing, because they display every resources in gallery until last day of KS.
Please cancel this project and create a new one, more polished in near future. At this rate, people will unback near the end. No one want to risk their money for such unprofessional and suspicious project. Please consider. Thank you.

I see the video that show the game have very bad game rule, are you had played some popular boardgame ? Are you really make boardgame? only roll dice, and no any interesting mechanics in game.......

I would love for a re-launch as a figure set. At this point, I assume we're all paying a premium to buy models with some bulk tacked on that's pretending to be a game.
Mark CashmanSuperbacker
I dont own a 3d printer but surely if its just the minis people after you can find someone whos recreated them ? Either Persona, Metaphor, or Shin megami ones? (Obviously these wouldnt be official mind)
Ian MacColl
I have a 3d printer, was genuinely considering looking into that the other day, as well as putting my game design degree to use and make a board game for private use.
So i saw they were responding to comments below and thought I would summarise their replies --
Thank you for your comment. We apologize for causing you concern. We will continue to do our best to provide information about this project until the end of the pledge period. Thank you for your continued support.
Thank you for your valuable feedback. We will use it as a reference for the future. We appreciate your continued support.
We sincerely apologize for any concerns you may have had with our team's response. We will continue to work on this issue to allay your concerns. Thank you for your understanding.
So someone asked a question about what happens with a 4 player game and their response was ‘Thank you for the comment.
For a three-player game, the players in 2nd and 3rd will fight initially, then the winner of that fight will face the player in 1st in a fight to determine who wins the game.
We're sorry, but we're unable to disclose any details about the constraints you mention.’
Basically a lot of copy and pasted responses and the one question that was specific to a 4 player game and how it finishes, they can't disclose!!! IE they havent got a clue.
I mean i can point out as many red flags as I want by they are showing you how 'capable' they are of producing this game based on the comments they are giving!
If you see a lot of red flags then don’t backup the game. You are like the meme were the guy is yelling at people “stop having fun!” While everyone else is just trying to have fun. So annoying.
Mark CashmanSuperbacker
Oh Luis, i wouldnt dare give them a penny. However, I am here to advise a HUGE amount of new backers to crowdfunding. Who else is having fun here? Look at the comments. I think you'll find everyone is on the same page :)
Give people a reason to have fun .....we will wait

@Luis:
I was an Early Bird and decided to lower to 1€ my pledge. I am a fan of the series but this is below unacceptable. If you watch the video, there are no apparent redeeming qualities in the game besides the minis. Furthermore, at the end you can see the comments how they actively force themselves to find good and fun things about something that probably wasn't fun to begin with. The comment that stuck with me was the guys saying that "it was fun to do the negotiation because you chose a funky answer and it turned out to be the right one". Long time fans of the series know that the negotiation in SMT are random and always "crazy" like that, so highlighting this specific part is... Odd? Kinda feels like fishing to find something positive to say about the game. People have pointed out that once you memorize the choices your replayability is dead, and for a 3 hour game picking random choices of a card then rolling the dice is just bad game design imo.
Everything about this is off-putting, and funding this game will only incentivize people to pull scams like this, and if after it gets funded it back-fires it will send a message to Atlus and Sega to stay away from the BG business.
I haven't watched the video, going to be transparent. I read the comments and it seems like an expensive Yahtzee. If I wanted that I'd just play a good one, Dice Throne. This is going to be my idea of a SMT Boardgame. Have it Coop, until the end. Have "random battles" that give experience towards your demon to give you an incentive to initiate battles. Have them wrap up fairly quickly to not slow down the game. High leveled demons need to take on more battles to level. Have the game based off of the Original SMT. Thor launching a nuke, you get lost in the expanse, the chaos character(s) fusing with their demons, law characters becoming pseudo immortal and neutral having the most demon accessibility with skills. If you're stuck on the idea of dice, the skills unlocking with levels. Have them like Tarukaja, +1 to each die when attacking. Tarunda, -1 to each attack die. Charge, doubles the count of the die roll. If you have 5 die and you rolled a 21, it is now a 42. Add the mechanics of the game series into the board game. When you're done have an allignment phase that changes based on something like artifacts or instances your character's have gone through. Want a versus at the end? The final Law/Neutral/Chaos boss is fused with one of the heroes (one that rolled the lowest or has the weakest demons) and have special stats that go up based on what the player had so they can still be in it. Make it a 1v1, 2v1, or 3v1 with changing stats per character count. This was my hopes for an SMT boardgame.
Courtney
Thank you for answering my previous question about board game mechanics (I am still waiting for your reply to my general questions I posted after - Looking forward to hearing from you on this)
And thank you for having a short playthrough. Your video along with backer: fe55hz helped me understand alot about the game.
The battle mechanics are similar to the board game "Risk" which is a simple but effective gameplay loop. I was wondering if the SMT Board Game had anything more to the dice mechanics to make it more complex or add ways to increase/decrease dice?
Does demon affinities or weakness and resistances from the video game come into the board game?
the player Ai (Mugen Gaming) had quite a few dice in the end as well as special abilities (such as rerolling)
Could you elaborate on some of the cool mechanics they used to alter the amount of dice they had?
Also I think grimoires was mentioned by Shawn but I wasn't sure if anyone ever used any. How impactful are grimoires in the battle system?
Finally we got to see searching and demon negotiation at the beginning but how is board control used at the start? If player 1 controls Shibuya how does that affect the other players and why would they want to try fight player 1 to gain control of Shibuya? What would happen if player 1 managed to control ALL of Tokyo?
Thanks again for your responses and your video. I hope we could get another video of the control aspect of the game as that seems to be where most of the time will be spent in game and I would love to see more videos on this board game
fe55hz
Devil-talk(="Search" action) consume a search chip on area(Shibuya etc.). So, usually, player need to try get new devil on area where have search chip yet.
If player gain control of 1 area, they gain 1 reward chip. There are different types of reward chips. Players receive a set advantage for each chip. Although area control is an advantage for the player and has no direct impact on other players, it can be described as taking away opportunities.
It seems that the game does not include weaknesses and resistances between devils.
Courtney
Thank you @fe55hz You have helped me understand this game.
What is your opinion of this project? How do you feel about it now that the video has been shown of what basic gameplay will be?
fe55hz
To begin with, I think that charging a high price for unpainted figures is a bad use of the budget for a board game, but that is something that cannot be changed at this stage.
I am concerned that some of the rules are unclear, and that this video was filmed a while ago.
I backed the project as an early bird, so I have high hopes for it, but I am also waiting to see how things develop with a sense of urgency.
If a little more time is needed to complete the project more smoothly, I think it would be fine to postpone the project.
AJ Gore
Decided to check out the "game playthrough" video, first thing is this disclaimer:
"The game contents and rules in this video are still in the development phase"
If the RULES of the game are still being developed, then why have you launched the kickstarter? It looks like you have no interest in tweaking & balancing the rules to make the game as good as it can be, & are just interested in delaying the release of a clearly unfinished rule book.
I was willing to assume that this campaign was just run by people inexperienced with crowdfunding & the expectations of boardgamers - but every new update/response just makes it look more & more like a scam.
Pro tip - Cancel the campaign. Relaunch as "SMT Miniature sets: Law/Chaos/Neutral" at cheaper price points.

To be fair, I'm a back of the "Dawn of Madness" Kickstarter campaign.
A project that was successfully funded on December 17, 2019.
A project that was due to be fulfilled in October 2021. (As I am mildly temporally aware, I am writing this post on December 2, 2024.)
They had rules at the beginning, but they needed to be overhauled, and it seems to me almost from scratch, but not only that, needed completed.

So you drop an update, of a picture of the game and focus on the exquisite miniatures.
Is this a miniatures campaign or a board game campaign? (9 days to go and still barely any info on the game itself)

Completely agree, they keep messing things up more and more

<追記>

Is rules finished? Or being develped? At least they are letting us falling in the massive chaos...
They said “rulebook is completed with ver.11, and we think this is acceptable.” WTF…
