Goabalt is a rather iffy Mon to use in Vega. While it does boast the same typing as Bisharp, it does not come near close to Bisharp's power in any way due to Bisharp having Defiant and Sucker Punch as priority. Instead, it is more of a Physical tank with great Attack stat. Unfortunately, it has 55 Speed, which is just below Tyranitar's Speed tier. Also, its typing offensively does get walled by Steel types unless if one runs Earthquake or Raging Flame. Defensively, while good, it gets demolished by Focus Miss, Flamethrower, and Raze Earth.
Overall, Goabalt is a decent choice as a Steel and Dark type attacker with pretty noticeable flaws in Vega.
In Procyon and Deneb however, Goabalt improved a lot due to the addition of Solid Rock, Assault Vest to make it incredibly tanky with Solid Rock, and the fact that Steel no longer resists Dark. However, the Cupricorn line is exclusive to Procyon.
Goabalt's design and Dex entries seem to suggest that is correlated with things such as Krampus, or other devilish goat-like beings. In particular, its Japanese name suggests a basis on the Christian demon, Baphomet.
Name Origin[]
Goabalt is a combination of goat and cobalt, a kind of chemical element usually with a silver-gray color. Cobalt can also be blue, hence the color of Goabalt's eyes.
Baphot is a contraction of baphomet, a demon in Christianity typically depicted with the head of a goat. This basis is further alluded to in Procyon and Deneb, in which the Pokémon's Pokédex entries refer to it as a "demon of steel."

Can anybody update the name and design origins for the Goabalt line?
There you go.
this is so stupid he doesnt learn a single steel type attack until level 69? thats so fucking dumb. How does he not learn iron head by level up?
The stats are wrong, Sp. Attack and Speed are way lower, around 75 Sp. Attack and 60 for Speed
Goabalt doesn't have Rock Head ability but Sturdy ability.
Also, don't let Hornikel evolve until it learns Zen Headbutt, it's a much better move than corner which is just a weaker Faint Attack.
Good advice! You are right!
