The slight detail of Kel being impressed that Sunny ate his violin... every Kel meme is cannon, therefore, Sunny ate his violin in cannon. Mari lives, and headspace was created so Sunny could distract himself from the intense stomach pain he experienced, having to get bits of wood removed in the hospital. Hellmari is actually Hellviolin. When people talk about Mari's death, they are actually informing the audience that Sunny's violin was named Mari. In order to save Sunny from the embarrassment of having Aubrey and Sunny's parents find out that Sunny ate his violin to stop the recital from happening, Basil decided to stage things so it looked like the violin comitted suicide. Hero and Kel went along with this, but Hero still blames himself a bit, thinking he could've saved Sunny from taking things so far, and Kel is confused, trying to figure out why everyone is so upset over Sunny's amazing accomplishment. Through all this, Mari (the person) is just casually living with her and Sunny's father while going to college, and Aubrey is just trying to figure out why the fuck Basil was so stupid as to think that she would believe that a damn violin killed itself. All of this combined lead to the demise of the group.
