idk guys, I think I have grown into a fuddy duddy because I'm not enjoying his constant obsession and no care of Rei doesn't want to constantly do it... In my opinion, the art of incredible but the ML is... Kind of a major asshole manipulator who is taking advantage of a girl suffering with her own insecurity and dependence on him... It's just giving me the face... Maybe dropping it...

I AM curious though as to how she left him and why especially.

I notice this novel is the reversal of Beauty and the Beast.

Not as I known. Since he was being cursed, he was alone, and he cant get out, people is somehow can't get in either (like there's nothing on google maps). He get the FL to his home was because the promise he get (or threats) to FL grandparents. At that time, he actually asking for granpa wife =_=. But then the granpa begged (or i kinda have blur memory), and then granpa got that letter, granpa survived the mansion curse, and his memory got erased. And then back to the story start~

Actually, he was asking for the grandpa's daughter, Rei's mom. His wife was sick and the baby was in danger, in exchange for giving medicine to help deliver the baby safely, he asked the grandpa to send his daughter when she is older to live in the mansion.

My findings until now
- Before reading, I thought he was some demon, or the devil type and the mansion was the devil's lair. So, it was actually cursed.
- Reason he's cursed (I think): Clodan was a genius, He was raised by a powerful mage/ magician who was the only one left. Clodan lacks feelings or sympathy, but he was drawn to power and immortality, so he kills his father/ teacher to become the only mage/magician powerful and immortal. But before the magician dies, he cursed Clodan to live his long life as a beast, trapped in the mansion and being in heat with no control of oneself since only beasts are as cold and unfeeling as him?
- Clodan's feelings for Ray are really sincere. He starts attracted to her beauty to possessiveness and caring about her.
- Clodan had always been alone before meeting Ray. He thinks that being in heat and uncontrollable like a beast goes against him. He does not like being controlled. But He kills or shed other's blood turning into a violent maniac at that time. That's why no one can leave the mansion alive. Those in the mansion are there so that he's not the only one suffering and due to loneliness. It's their punishment for betrayal (fearing and trying to leave him/ breaking promises/ pledge etc).
- Clodan actually makes deals with people knowing they break them. He's like a devil making soul contracts. Either the people break the deal, or he does sth to make them break them. He just wants everyone to suffer with him. the reason why Ray's grandfather left alive was so that he'd send his daughter to Clodan when she came of age, but he does not take it seriously after leaving the mansion and having a happy life. So, the fall of their Nobel Family is actually the consequences they bear. Because of the deal, Clodan actually thinks Ray is his possession as they came with the letter to fulfil the contract.
- He also studies portions again for the curse after meeting Ray.
