i played this after my friend died. he always wanted me to play it, and i never did, until now.

the shame and guilt i felt whilst playing, i never wanted to play it, i thought it wasn't for me, until i played it.

one of the best games ive played, so beautiful game, i resonate with the characters, the story, everything. the guilt, the anxiety, feeling closed off, not being able to move on, being stuck, being mad at people for moving on, distancing yourself from people that love and care about you.

thank you chris

Did you have a brother or sister who is better than you in everything? Hiding behind good goals like "I just wanted everything to be perfect", forcing you to do something against your will, eventually pushing you to the limit?

Have you ever had situations for which you are ashamed, scared or guilty, when all these dark feelings consume you from the inside, when everyone except you, you yourself has forgiven you for a long time?

Have you ever wanted to lock yourself in your room and just recreate the kind of world you want?

Have you ever wanted to forget something completely, for ever?

Have you ever...?

Symbolism, dichotomy, psychology, reflections, trauma, the number of small details as you progress, an unforgettable ending - Omori combines all this. I have never seen games that cover so many eternal, sometimes even existential issues.

Finally, topics that were previously tabooed are being raised in the gaming industry. This is what was missing in the games before. Topics of suicide, fear, childhood trauma. And if you think that this should not be discussed, then just the opposite is true. Omori is NOT a depressing game. It shows how difficult the path of a teenager with childhood trauma is, what he goes through to come to terms with something in the past. And such a well-developed, high-quality immersion in this atmosphere deserves attention.

Omori is a very deep game, perhaps too deep. There are no elements of fiction in it - everything that happens in the plot can happen or maybe even happened to one of you. Behind the colorful, fictional world is the real world. The real world with all the problems that are left there.

Omori teaches that it is never too late to return. If you decide it's too late for you, the end will be the same.

this game broke me, i cried multiple times. I still cry even months later...

this is one of the most powerful games I've experienced—truly stunning. I felt a strong connection to the characters, the storyline, everything. It takes you through feelings like fear, anxiety, and isolation in a way that feels real and relatable, but also manages to be tender. The soundtrack deserves special mention; it perfectly captures the game’s mood, enhancing each scene with a haunting, often nostalgic quality. The music pulls you into the world, making the emotional highs and lows hit even harder.

It explores mental health and personal struggle with sensitivity, making it both a memorable and meaningful experience. If you’re ready for a journey that’s as thought-provoking as it is moving, OMORI is well worth your time.

Play it as blind as possible.

Masterpiece in every way, I absolutely adored this game. Never have I cried this bad over a video game, my mom had to burst into my room because I was wailing, crying looking at my screen.

Characters are written beautifully, everyone is lovable. You really build a connection to the main 4, as you journey through the story, you're absolutely blown away by the gorgeous pixel graphics. The story itself is great, It's paced fantastically and it is always obvious what is the next step. This masterpiece will make you feel every possible emotion you can feel, and the spirals in anxiety and fear you feel during certain segments are riveting!

Game-play is executed in a great way, I really enjoy the mechanics behind emotions and although I haven't played that many RPG's I feel that it's a very unique gimmick in fights. The strategy behind the emotions feels so rewarding when you properly utilize them! Another mechanic is called "follow up attacks" think like a baton pass from Persona 5. They're a little confusing at first, but you'll eventually get the hang of everyone's follow up attack. The possibilities are endless when it comes to how you want to deal with an enemy!

My last point, the soundtrack is rivaling that of Undertale, (don't get me wrong, Undertale has just as good of a soundtrack!) everything about it is perfect. There's a song for absolutely anything you'll see in this game, so many tracks you'd think at least ONE is unnecessary or unimportant to the game, but nope! Track after track, I genuinely can't tell you when there was a point I wasn't dancing to a battle theme, or an overworld theme!

Please be sure to read the disclaimer, this game is very, VERY heavy. I beat the final few hours all in one run and my heart was pounding the entire way through. It wasn't out of adrenaline. It wasn't out of excitement, it was out of genuine fear. Heart skipping beat after beat, man! I don't know how to convince you further, if you have the SLIGHTEST interest in Omori, buy it, and play it. I hope you love this game as much as I do.

Rarely have I played a game that has had me at the edge of tears. This game is super incredible and I am super glad I went into it knowing nothing about it. I love the art style and soundtrack for this game. The game mechanics are great and the story line is much much better. I wish I could play this game for the first time again.

This game made me so emotional, I kept repeating the gameplay on one of the endings because of how much it touched my heart. The musics in this game was also creative in a way that really suits the situations, making the experience all the more 'real'. Another thing that is cool to me are the little details they put such as the main menu changing from one setting to another depending on which part of the story you are currently in.

Finished my first playthrough and man... it hits deep for me. I think anyone can appreciate this story. The amount of foreshadowing that you might oversee and the amount of meanings you figure out while playing the game are really incredible.

I would personally say that I kind of got impatient and should have taken my time more during my first playthrough but I will definitely give it another rodeo while focusing more on another ending or/and things I may have missed.

I've put off playing this game for a really long time now (like 3-4 years basically) and I've finally played it after some persuasion.

Being a game that I initially thought I'd never enjoy, Omori managed to subvert my expectations in just how neatly it manages to do everything it wants and how it portrays its world and story, while still being a very "simple" RPGMaker game. This is not to say I dislike RPGMaker games, if anything, I adore them.

The hardest obstacle I had to overcome before playing was definitely the deep-rooted belief that it's "just another niche indie game RPG with a deep story about depression", as many like to joke. Well Omori certainly is not that, at least not entirely. With the way everything is executed, it's hard not to wonder what happens next. The mystery at hand, as well as unveiling it always pushes you forward. Ultimately all you need to do is begin playing the game to get hooked.

{I'm trying to avoid talking about the story of this game in this review because I sincerely believe everyone should try to experience it for themselves.}

Overall, I'd say I really liked playing through Omori and will continue to play to see all of its extra content as well as get the achievements. Play it.
