Syracuse, N.Y. -- Two hotels under construction in DeWitt and Salina are the first recipients of a grant program launched by Onondaga County Executive Ryan McMahon to boost the supply of hotel rooms in advance of Micron Technology’s construction of a massive semiconductor plant in nearby Salina.
The grants announced Thursday total $650,000. The money comes from the room occupancy tax that hotel guests pay.
