Today my eight year old was cheering and jumping up and down upstairs, so I went to see what he was watching on youtube and it was a video showing the GDP of countries growing over time. I asked him why he found it so exciting — he put two fingers on my chest and said “that’s none of your business.”
I don't know what the need is that keeps driving me to say this but I can't stop dwelling on this. 76.5 million people in the United States of America voted for a rapist criminal for President.
I did not vote for the rapist.
memo to farmers protesting today, if you’re desperate to hand your farm to your offspring then give it to them while you’re still alive, panic over, so long as you live another 7 years there’s no inheritance tax
one thing you gain from reading in detail about the actual operations of a presidential administration is a recognition that even the most competent and dedicated political staff with the best leadership struggles to bend the federal bureaucracy in its direction
Lots of people are about to be really mad that price of eggs goes up but they can’t get a 2nd job because they can’t afford childcare and when they do finally get the eggs they get E Coli because there’s no FDA but can’t go to the doctor because they got kicked off their health plan.
MEA CULPA: Someone just informed me this photo is old. While it’s still technically obeying in advance, I’m deleting this post because recent developments could make it seem new. I grabbed it from another big account that said it was from this weekend. My bad.
You’ll never guess who says he is considering taking away Medicaid and food stamps from up to 70 million Americans…
Did y’all wanna talk about the price of eggs still or nah?
In times like these, community is everything. That's why we are so honored to be part of this pro-democracy Bluesky community. It's great to see how quickly this platform is growing, reconnect with familiar faces, and actually be able to follow the latest news again! Let's keep this energy going!!!
The full-scale invasion day 1,000th.
We owe everything we have to a Ukrainan soldier - who’s tired, unwilling, outnumbered, and outgunned, sensing grief and injustice - yet who keeps doing the terrible job every single day to save the world.
It took me twelve years (!) to build up my audience on Twitter. It took 5 days to surpass the 50% point of my Twitter following on Bluesky. I’m hopeful that the overall growth on this site will negate the need to go on Twitter altogether. Sad to see what it devolved into, but thrilled to see it die.
One thing I hope we can do as Bluesky gets larger is be less tolerant of the resistance grifters who will try to hack the platform for engagement and growth without any interest in adding anything substantive or meaningful
It’s a different kind of troll.
Please consider not watching (or appearing on) Morning Joe ever again. Easy decision for me since I never liked it anyway. Sucking up to a psychopath should be a deal breaker.
I just spent 10 minutes trying to explain It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia to someone and I've decided there's no way to do it that actually makes anybody realize how funny it is. You just have to make them watch it.
Slowly realizing as I watch Return of the King that I haven’t watched this movie in years and apparently forgot vast swaths of it, like how hard Denethor sucks
The B-52's being an unabashedly cheerful party band at the peak of the AIDS crisis, reaching their biggest success after losing their most important band member to the disease. If it weren't for them and John Waters a lot of us would have been lost in the 80s and 90s.
Good night, my great warriors. Best rest up. Look at this beautiful thing. 👇🏼 I believe it's a skeleton nebula. If it's not correct, hope my galaxy peeps will correct me. Thank you, all. Much Aloha. ❤️🦋💙🫂💋🙏🏻
