TRANSFORMABLE Megatron Arm for Studio Series 86 Optimus Prime

The iconic Megatron arm, used by Optimus Prime in the Skybound comics.

Yes. It is fully transformable. The base arm transforms exactly the same as the original arm, with the inclusion of displaying the fusion cannon (no different to weapon storage for vehicle mode, it is required to be detached from the cannon from the arm).

The Megatron arm has the exact same articulation as the original arm, including the hand with the fingers.

The entire arm and fusion cannon is all completely colour separated. No painting is required.

The fusion cannon includes a 5mm compatible peg, which can flip up and allow for the slot under the fusion cannon to be used on top of truck cab (the detail atop the shoulder piece). You can flip the peg to the other side to allow room for another slot to open and position the cannon the other way round.
The cannon is also split into different sections. Since it is, the "back scope part" of the cannon has a variation included where there is a slot on the top of the piece (which would be the very back of the cannon) that tabs onto the truck bed, allowing the cannon to 'smokestack' in truck mode (which is a reference to the Skybound comics), displayed right behind the Megatron arm.

There is also a variation included for the "Forearm Large part" piece, which is a section of the forearm that can be seen from the outside in vehicle mode. The variation, "5mm port on the right side of the truck cab", lives up to it's given title, it a 5mm port on the right side of the truck to allow the fusion cannon to be displayed on the side of the truck. However, the port had to stick out a bit from the side for the fusion cannon peg not to clash with the transformed hand in the inside of the forearm. This resulted in this particular forearm option piece to have a bit of elevation on one side (which would be facing Optimus' body in robot mode).
The default piece (the non-variation) has no elevated side, it's flat and closed off, in line with the rest of the truck mode just like the original arm.

For the arm, I would recommend using PETG or ABS for something long lasting. Anywhere that includes needing to use pins or screws for sure.
I did use PLA+ for all the red pieces (including the bicep piece on the arm) and the entire fusion cannon, those sections should be fine. All the greys, the light gray (silver) and the regular grey of the arm were all PETG.

What you will need:

• x4 M2 x 8mm screws.

• x3 1.25mm pins.

• x2 1mm pins.

For the 1.25mm and 1mm pins, I personally just used panel pins that you can easily find at your local hardware store if 'regular pins' are difficult to find. The pins will need to be trimmed to the appropriate size of the piece it goes in.
