SINGAPORE -- Singapore Airlines is expecting further earnings pressure, with rival carriers continuing to add more flight capacity globally after the carrier's profit almost halved in the latest earnings results.

During a media briefing on Monday, CEO Goh Choon Phong said passenger yield -- a measure of average airfares paid per kilometer, per passenger -- is weakening this year as rivals add more flights.
