Cardano Governance Whistle Blow #1, So, this may matter to some.... IOG is currently contacting cardano builder projects, to invite them into a coalition and be added into the annual cardano budget for 2025 Some projects refused, some accepted and some others still get invited. promotes transparency as one of the key values on which they develop the Cardano Annual Budget for 2024, it is difficult to understand how transparency is applied in this very crucial topic. - Why is it IOG reaching out to invite cardano builder projects into a coalition and why is there no public application process ? - What are the criteria on which IOG selects the projects they reach out to invite to their coalition ? - Why do coalition partners have to sign NDAs ? - What budgets and deliverables are assigned to the coalition partners ? - Why is there no public information about this ? IOG this creates the appearance of deciding the annual budget allocation in advance. As the projects contacted are well known community builders with a strong reputation and presence. As direct beneficiaries, these invitees could be seen to have a vested interest in what will be promoted, advocated for and voted on. This approach stands in strong contrast to what has been publicly said by Intersect in respect of the current Budget, all actions being open and transparent. Very much the opposite actually. The intent to reach out to these established builders can be understood as being noble. But it is important that builder projects are not aligned artificially or incentivised to align. We definitely need to fund important projects in the ecosystem but these should not be selected top down by IOG Source: Communicated with multiple projects from which I received validating information which eventually became the fundament of this tweet. Since IOG seems to have sent individualised emails to builder projects it is not possible to share screenshots here since it would expose the projects which have been contacted and shared their email communications. PS: For anyone who wants to build dark-gov and thinks that is a sexy thing to do, there are people here around which will not fall for you, and we speak with each other, sooner or later things will end up in the light and when that happens. So, don't be surprised on a backlash from those who have a strong commitment to what is being built here. An open, transparent and decentralised ecosystem, where one entity cannot dominate the many. Whenever anyone will pushes for that, intentionally or unintentionally, count on us to step up. Let's do better.
