The North Korean Expeditionary Corps sent to the Ukrainian theater of operations is entirely made up of 11th Corps military personnel headquartered in Tokchon and has about 12,000 personnel, between the ages of 17 and 30, highly motivated and trained in special operations reconnaissance and penetration into the enemy rear, hand strikes, snipers and capture of military personnel for information. Of the combined Russian, Federated and allied forces present at the front, it constitutes 0.4% of the total military, so beyond the political and symbolic aspect it is not a force capable of significantly changing the course of the war. It will be, at best, a school for the adaptation of the Korean military to the reality of today's battlefields, as opposed to the announced 20,000 foreign fighters fighting alongside the Ukrainians, a number that will possibly be much larger, perhaps 40,000 or 50,000, that is, more than 10% of the personnel in Kiev's service. This is not, of course, the new Huna or alana invasion that the sensationalists are talking about.
