Restoration efforts are underway, some climate-related data products affected
UPDATED: October 29, 2024.
As of October 29, NCEI systems are back online and all data ingest streams are operational with more than 80% of the data recovered from the outage. NCEI will be working over the next several months to recover the remaining 20% of data yet to be ingested into the archive. NOAA and NCEI expect there to be minimal data loss once all recovery efforts are completed. For more information, please visit www.ncei.noaa.gov
Heavy rains from Hurricane Helene caused record flooding and damage like that seen here on September 28, 2024, in Asheville, North Carolina.
