How will Linux Mint handle non-rectangular laptop screens?

Post by HyperBear »

Smartphones got rounded screens and notches since 2017 (S8 and iPhone X respectively). MacBooks since 2020. Given the history of electronics manufacturers, it is only a matter of time until other vendors copy Apple's anti-features.

The worst thing about non-rectangular screens is the hostility towards third-party operating systems, including Linux Mint.

How will we handle the probably inevitable onset of non-rectangular laptop screens?

Reason: Moved from Desktop:Cinnamon to Chat about Linux Mint because this is not a request for help with a problem.

Don't worry, it works like a hyperdrive - no one knows how, but it will get us there.
