About
Oh? It seems you have stumbled onto my profile, by accident or by purpose, welcome! :)
My name is Meghshyam Prakash, and I am a Masters of Commerce (MCom) student at the University of Auckland majoring in Global Management and Innovation. I directly moved into Master's from my triple major BCom degree (Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Management, and Operations and Supply Chain Management). I am the 2023 Ricketts Kupe leadership scholar, working on how to make NZ SMEs into global powerhouses.
My Masters's Dissertation is focused on why and how New Zealand Managed Growth Microbusinesses grow. We seek to understand their international growth ambitions, people, strategies, and infrastructure to help develop a pathway forward for Kiwi business.
Specific Research Interests:
-Microbusiness/Small-to-Medium (SME) Enterprise Strategy
-Coopetition, specifically on this effect on new product development
-Value creation
-Growth and Scaling Internationally
-Supply Chain Visibility
-Family-Owned Business
-Pricing optimization
My particular interests have been the impact entrepreneurship scene and especially being able to create social change. My areas of Interest currently are in the fields of supply-chain tech, with a venture cooking up ways to increase visibility and build a global spine in end-to-end supply chains.🍳
Currently, I am on the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) youth advisory group and still mentor for the Auckland region to help high school students with whatever problems they may need help solving for the 2023 YES programme. I also received the University of Auckland Business School Deans Leadership Award for 2021, and was previously a startup scout and Entrepreneurial Assistant In Residence Intern (EAIR) for Startupbootcamp Australia.
I was the Chief Financial Officer for Kakariki Pure in 2018 and helped win an accolade of awards, including the most innovative and commercial-ready award at YES, and helped push the startup to the top four in the region.
In my spare time, my hobbies include playing sports such as cricket and badminton and enjoying being a part of the esports scene aswell as venture creation.
In the past, I was the Youth MP for Northland and represented the Northland electorate at parliament and my sitting MP Matt King. I also was an advisor for the United Nations Center for Constitutional Research in 2019 and helped their ambassadors learn how to mitigate climate change.

How do you test sustainability scenarios?
When thinking about methods, it's essential to have the right people on the bus, in the right seats. If this is the case, you will find a natural alignment. Alongside this bus building, focus on building "a council" of a wide range of stakeholders. Focus on getting this council to push on you and your concepts- all to build a better system that works. Ultimately, the method will depend on your business and industry. Some of the best involve digital twin testing- especially on your supply chain! Build a method that takes feedback seriously, and iteratively, and ensures no stone is left unturned. Once a stone is turned, you may not like the answer- that is the nature of building in this dynamic world!

How do you test sustainability scenarios?
Defining the purpose is essential, but not as important as defining the key problems you aim to contribute to solving. 1. Look to the vision and mission of your company. Often, you will find that sustainability is critical to moving your business forward, but identify and narrow down what part of the strategy it progresses. 2. Build a journey map. Look at the sustainability scenario as an extension of your customer or stakeholder journey map. Hone in on where it will bring the most impact. 3. Think about the wider business model. What stakeholders do you need onboard? What partners? What ecosystem owners? Plan the conversations. Get the right people on the bus and keep them. This will ensure success into the future!
