Work Text:

One fine normal day in Diasomnia, Sebek and Silver were, as usual, sparring outside to practice their offense and defense. Silver was trying his best to stay awake, thanks in part to Sebek's booming voice constantly hitting his eardrums.

"Silver! Maintain your focus!" Sebek yelled, causing Silver to wake up for the nth time.

"S-Sorry..." Silver apologized and regained his focus. Just as they were about to continue, the two heard a soft sound.

"Buuuu..." It said.

"Do you hear that?" Silver asked, looking around to find the source. The strange sound seemed to be nearby, and it made the duo curious.

Sebek shook his head, wanting their training to resume. "Did you not get enough sleep last night? You're likely hearing things." He replied.

"Buuuuuu..." The strange sound from before made its presence known again. Seeing that the sound would just keep feeding the silver haired's curiosity, the half fae decided to let him look for the source of the sound.

"Fine, but don't get lost." Sebek prompted, following Silver's lead. Silver looked around the greenery, thinking that the sound came from a tiny animal. But what he found instead surprised the duo.

"Buuuu?"

Right in front of them...

...was a tiny creature that looked like Silver.

"My! What a cute little thing!" Lilia cooed as he carried the creature in his hands. "It even has your hair too, Silver!"

"That's what I don't get..." Silver mumbled, watching Lilia smoosh his cheeks against the creature's. "When I picked him up, he immediately latched on to me."

"And that's a good thing." Lilia clarified, poking the soft squishy body. "It almost feels like his body is made out of mochi!" The bat fae then gasped. "I know! From now on, your name will be Mochilver!"

Sebek snickered, finding the name really funny. "M-Mochilver...? BAHAHAHAHAHA!" His laugh echoed in the room, which caused the other Diasomnians present to laugh along.

Mochilver didn't seem to appreciate the sound and began to cry, feeling his ears hurt slightly. "Uuuuuaaaaa..." He squirmed a little in Lilia's hold.

"Hm? What's wrong, Mochilver?" Lilia asked, trying to soothe Mochilver.

"Buuuuuu!!" Mochilver cried, covering his ears with his tiny hands. Lilia shushed him, trying to calm him down.

"Shhhh, it's okay..." The bat fae comforted, stroking the creature's hair. He kept on crying, still in a distressed state due to the noise. "Oh dear..." Lilia mumbled, trying to think of ways to soothe Mochilver. He quickly handed Mochilver over to Silver. "Here, you try."

"M-Me? But I don't think I have your capabilities, Father..." Silver commented, holding the mochi in his hands.

"Just trust me." Lilia assured. Silver simply stood there, completely lost and clueless on what to do until he felt tiny tugs on his uniform sleeves.

"Uuuuuu..." Mochilver mewled, still in tears. Silver hesitantly took one hand and gently stroked the mochi's hair. In an instant, the waterworks stopped and the mochi leaned into his touch.

"Huh, that worked..." The silver haired mumbled. He then brought Mochilver close to his chest and felt the little guy snuggle into him.

"Awww, see? I told you!" Lilia cooed. "It's almost as if you yourself became a parent!" He wiped away a fake tear.

"I-Isn't that a big responsibility?" Silver asked, letting Mochilver suckle on his gloved finger. "I-I don't know if I can juggle between studying and looking out for him..."

"You have Sebek for a reason, don't you?" Lilia smugly pointed out, watching their faces suddenly turn red. "Look, Mochilver even thinks you're his mother!"

Sebek laughed again, pretending he didn't hear Lilia's prior comment about their relationship with each other. Mochilver stopped what he was doing and began to try and bap Sebek with his hand but couldn't due to his arm being short. "Silver? Being a mother?" He continued to laugh.

"Look Sebek, Mochilver is reaching out to you." Lilia pointed out, even though Mochilver was doing the opposite.

"Don't touch me." Sebek said as he tried to get Mochilver to stop hitting him. Mochilver stopped what he was doing and looked at Sebek with big eyes, which slowly began to water.

"U-Uuuuuuuaaaaaaa!!" He cried, staining Silver's vest. Sebek simply stared at him, bewildered.

"W-What now?" Sebek wondered, confused on why Mochilver began to cry again. Lilia shook his head, pretending to be disappointed.

"My, Sebek..." He clicked his tongue. "He saw you as his father and you rejected him?"

Now it was Sebek's turn to be flustered and confused. "F-Father? Me...?"

Lilia tsk'ed. "It's about time you both practice responsibility." He added, snickering slightly when he saw Sebek and Silver blush. "Mochilver sees you as his mommy and daddy so you both need to work together to make him happy."

"M-Mother...me and Sebek...the father..." Silver babbled as Mochilver lightly tugged on his vest. He recomposed himself and cleared his throat. "Father, is it alright if me and Sebek be alone with each other for now?"

"Goodness! Not in front of the baby!" The bat fae joked, implying something else. "I'm just joking, go ahead. Take all the time the two of you need."

"Sebek...I..."

"I know." Sebek cut him off. In contrast to his usual loud composure, he used his soft voice, which was only reserved for Silver whenever they were alone. Mochilver, meanwhile, was on the bed playing with some old toys they found lying around.

"T-The part where he said we were like his mother and father..." Silver looked to the side, a blush painting his cheeks. "I know he's joking but...he sounded really serious back there..."

"Serious about what?" The half fae asked, his eyes on the mochi creature.

"P-Practicing responsibility...the possibility that he thinks the both of us will be parents one day...I don't think I'm-" Silver was cut off by Sebek gently grabbing his shoulders.

"Silver, listen to me." Sebek instructed. "I know there's a possibility Master Lilia may be joking but that does not matter." He had a firm grip on Silver's shoulders. "I'm with you in this. Let them tease us and call us mother and father or something. Mochilver needs us. He imprinted himself on us."

Silver blinked.

"...Sebek."

"Yes?"

"Was that...a marriage proposal...?"

Sebek blushed and quickly looked away. Damn Silver and the way he interprets some things! Although he didn't mind the fact that Silver saw it as a proposal. "T-That wasn't...unless you want to..." He stuttered.

Silver let out a soft giggle. "Well, in that case, my answer is yes." He smiled. Sebek internally screamed in happiness.

"Well, do you want to...?" Sebek's voice trailed off, hoping Silver would get the hint.

"Mn, alright." Silver agreed and they leaned their faces closer until they kissed. Mochilver saw what they were doing and stopped playing with the toys.

"Buuuuuuuu!!" He yelled as he went in between them and began to pull their faces apart with his small hands.

"H-Hey! Quit it!" The half fae scolded. The silver haired laughed, seeing how the mochi was acting like a little child.

Lilia, who was secretly watching from outside, giggled. "Young love, fufufu~"
